What about
[dynamic] MAC = "XXXXXXXXXXXX"
in script.bin?
-
Usually, such issues can happened when doing a "dd" while sd is still mounted with previous partitions.
Making sure no partition are mounted before issuing the "dd" command is a good practice.
I think I have checked that every time, but I'm not sure.
Thank you everyone for helpful suggestions!
-
Ok, everything works now. It was SD format fault, but I don't know why other images worked fine.
-
Have you make a "sync" after dd ?
Yes, but it is also strange, because card with "good" image syncs in 0.5 s when "bad" few minutes. I'll try to make new partition table and maybe wipe it as you suggest.
-
I used Rufus this time, but it shouldn't make any difference if you use correct arguments for dd (I mean write to whole device i.e. /dev/sdb and not to partition i.e. /dev/sdb1)
Yes, of course.
I'll try again in the morning. Maybe with Windows and other uSD adapter.

Jessie server legacy image for PC+
Armbian_5.14_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112.raw
SHA256: CD5EB351E777651EC4F4DE71E8FD32FDECF40088A467C3C8A8A55916E1A30669SHA256 passed.
Strange is that after dd command I can't mount SDs with legacy, but vanilla I can.
What about that? I can't mount uSD card with legacy image at my PC. Do you also use dd program to write raw image to SD?

I have tested with two SDs - the same result. But vanilla works perfect!
Strange is that after dd command I can't mount SDs with legacy, but vanilla I can.
I've downloaded legacy twice.

If Allwinner H3 has EMAC 10M/100M/1000M what is the different between Orange Pi Plus (GbE) and Orange Pi PC Plus (Fast Ethernet)?
Ok, probably I found answer - PHY decides. Stupid question:/

"I came up with idea to remove TP-Link router from my net and use Banana Pi M1+ as WIFI router. Could I do that?"
Dont expect to much of a linux based AP : wifi is a jungle, opensource software use to respect standard and legislation, which is not always the case of internet provider boxes in your vicinity. And the one who has the largest (antenna) generally wins.
I had been using Open-WRT and DD-WRT with that TL-WR740N. I can change the antenna to bigger one too if I'll choose board with WLAN;)

You wrote:

I think I don't loose anything when take Orange Pi PC (34,2$) or PC Plus (37$) and USB3.0->GbE (18,5$) when needed.
Orange Pi Plus 2e I can get for 68$ so I could save from 13$ (with GbE) to 31$ (without GbE) the expense of 1 GB RAM and one USB extra. I'll thik about it.

Don't know where in the world you are
Poland - here it is summer too and now I've got 27,8*C at home:)
But after few tests now A10 takes so much current, that 3.3 voltage regulator is also hot (CPU very fast despite the radiator) - the system don't get up.
My Cubieboard is dead.
-
Thank you for comprehensive post.
I think, when I will need more than 1 GB RAM for server I turn to professional provider;)
Edit:
What about Banana Pi M1+? It is similar to Lime2 but without LiPo support.
Edit:
At home I've got only WLAN devices, except my PC. So I came up with idea to remove TP-Link router from my net and use Banana Pi M1+ as WIFI router. Could I do that?
Or maybe Lime2 + USB wifi?

R40 will be probably too expensive for me.
Cubietruck - for the time being I don't want any Cubie.
Lime2 is good, but I read about hanging... and now I am totally confused.
And that
Unfortunately, as I have mentioned before Lime2 is not of big interest for them so I am not sure if real collaboration is possible.
It means that good SW support of their Lime(2) boards from Armbian or any other community is not possible as well.
is very bothering (good adj? )
-
It's comprehensive answer - thank you.
So I think that LIME2 will be best choice:
- very good hardware documentation;
- SATA support in CPU (not USB-SATA);
- SPI, IIC, s/pdif;
- LiPo supply - great!
I'm worried only about DRAM - 1 GB is enough?
-
Hi,
my Cubieboard 1 was burned, so I'm looking for next board.
What I need:
- ownCloud (newer had yet);
- MPD;
- spdif;
- SATA (alternatively via USB?);
- maybe simple www server.
I don't need video , but I would like to connect some extra modules, like nRF24L01 radio via SPI or alphanumeric LCD via IIC etc.
Odroid C2 is powerful, but without SPI, SATA and audio outputs. So maybe C1+?
A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 is OK, but Allwinner again...
What else?
And the most important thing: Armbian:)
-
Thx for reply.
IMO it is not normal. The Cubieboard was working as a home server since a dozen months without radiator. I also ran a few stress tests at those time. Now it is hot (and probably take large current) without any load.
To the trash...
I wonder if A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 will be good replacement :>

Hi,
is my Cubieboard is damaged?
Couple days ago my server was suddenly turned off. When I checked, it turned out, that the Allwinner is very hot. So I added a radiator and run the Cubie with serial console. Seems like everything is ok, but temperature... almost 50*C.
-
Hmmm... It's too hard for me. But thanks for help:)
-
Thank you.
So, if I understand correctly, in Cubieboard1 I can't use s/pdif output? But it applies to Armbian or generally Debian?

OPi PC+ with PiFi Digi+ (Hifiberry Digi+)
in Beginners
Posted
I bought that DAC to my OPi - I tought it will be easier.
I've configure PCM and TWI in FEX file (IIS works perfect on oscilloscope). Also I've made mods on DAC's board - Raspberry has PCM at other pins.
But SPDIF still not working. I suppose, that WM8804 is in software mode, so I have to config it via IIC. My 3.4.113 Armbian doesn't have driver for that DAC. What can I do?
