I have the same issue. Bought my v7 from Amazon. Like your board, my board says its 1000cpu and 800ram. I tried flashing it with the *correct* firmware flash-image-ddr4-1g-1cs-1000_800.bin and got the same kernel panic issues. I then flashed it with flash-image-ddr4-1g-1cs-600_600.bin and it works fine. Problem is, it only runs at 300mhz per core. I'm returning my v7 to Amazon. I'll stick to my v5 until the bugs get ironed out. Oh well.
