  1. Hi, I have a few 905X2 boxes intended to be used as a mini server. They have 4GB memory and 32GB emmc. I want to load Linux on it and use them to run our network monitoring programs. I used to be software engineer working but haven't done much in recent years. I think maybe some experts could post the steps to compile and load Armbian images onto its emmc? Better, help to walk me through the process. I am willing (and by happy) to shed couple of hundred for the help. My main requirements are following: 1. Need to have a Ubuntu or any version running with Kernel higher than 4.9 where we can turn on TCP congestion BBR algorithm. I think a recompile of Kernel is required so I suppose I can recompile Armbian and choose to rebuild kernel (choose options to set BBR on). 2. Need to compile and package a few of our own applications (I know how to cross compile those but want some instruction how to package them into the Armbian image) 3. Need to turn on hardware watchdog feature so in case the box has any problem, it can restart itself and hopefully get back to normal. Appreciate any help or suggestions!
  2. I have been playing with it and still no luck. Now I have a even more weird problem. To summarize what I did in the following: 1. Started off with the log in problem as stated in the question, I then went ahead to download the official Ubuntu build for PC2 and I don't even see the out put to monitor. The monitor has no output. Originally I thought it would be my monitor problem as this is a different one I used. 2. Then I took the PC2 (and a Prime) to the monitor that used to work (just can not log in) and weird enough that there is no output. So I thought maybe the official build does not work, then I switched to use the SD card from my own build (use to book fine just not able to log in) and it didn't show anything either. 3. Then I used the SD card used to boot fine for both PC2 and Prime, both failed to display anything on the monitor. So now I got stuck at using both official images and my own built images for both PC2 and Prime, non works. I am intrigued There must be something very basic I have missed. Any suggestions what to do next?
  3. Hi, I built Armbian (bionic) from source for Orange Pi PC 2 and everything went through fine. I burn to SD card and load it on the board and it boots well. Then I use "root" to login and forced to change password from default 1234 to somepass. Everything seemed fine until I tried to login with the new password (old password failed to work anymore). The errors are in following screen shot. Kinda new to this stuff, not sure how to fix it. Tried to connect to serial port but somehow a couple of TTL cable all failed to work. Still struggling. Please help!
  4. Progress report: I was able to use another dtb and the system boots normally! Now I am able to get into the system and the problem now is the WiFi not working. Tried "modprobdhd" and it shows "modprobe: FATAL: Module dhd not found in directory /lib/modules/5.2.0-rc4-aml-s905" Then tried bcmdhd.ko in original Android system, still not working. It shows "insmod: ERROR: could not insert module bcmdhd.ko: Invalid module format" (guess this is right as it is from Android). The X96 Max box I have is using AP6356 WiFi chip and it seems the driver is missing. Is it possible to find the driver for bcmdhd? Or I am on the wrong path to solve this Wi-Fi not found problem?
  5. Tried that and still does not work. Same error as before. I must be missing some basis here. Thanks
  6. Thanks! So I can take the dtb file from Android (preloaded on the box) and use it here? Is it the right way to solve this?
  7. Having problem running on 905X2. Newbie here and would like to get some kind help. Here is what I did: 1. Download image here: https://yadi.sk/d/pHxaRAs-tZiei/5.77/S905X2 and then burn to TF card using "etcher" 2. Insert TF into this X96 Max box and start the box. When in Android (preloaded), use "update & backup app" and then click "select" and choose the "aml_autoscript.zip" file from TF card and then click "update" . 3. When restart the box, it seems hang at uboot, please see attached capture from serial port. Thanks alot!
