  1. My OS crashed and seemed to no longer load beyond a certain point. So, I have reinstalled the .img along with PIAWARE. All is good. I have cloned the latest Armbian configuration and install utility but now I am lost? Is this meant to run from entering on the command line : sudo delian-config . Sudo armbian-config takes me to the old configuration utility that does not contain the LTE modem option.
  2. :-) sorta right under my nose. I have cloned Armbian/config to my OPi. I went into /config folder and chmod +x the files but I cannot get the Debian-config menu system to show.
  3. 1.) So I have sakis3g installed 2.) So I created a file : sudo nano /etc/sakis3g.conf with the following info: 3.) I created an autconnectnet script - sudo nano /etc/init.d/autoconnectnet with the following: If I type: sudo /etc/init.d/autoconnectnet start or sudo /etc/init.d/autoconnectnet stop it starts and stops no problems. 4.) Now, when I switch the power off and back on, this .conf file seems to get corrupted or modified. The following is displayed when try to go back to this entry - sudo nano /etc/sakis3g.conf and the editor is blank. What am I doing wrong? I want the modem to start after powering on.
  4. I am trying to understand and construct a script that will run my 3g usb modem at startup. I have great difficulty in understanding the syntax. I am using a PI PC+ with Ubuntu Xenial. If I type the following at the command prompt: My modem connects to the internet. Sakis3g is located in /home/opi/usr/local/bin/sakis3g. Can someone offer guidance or an example that would execute the above command at startup please?
  5. ABCD567 ”SUCCESS!” I installed Armbian Ubuntu Xenial Default and incorporated your blacklist commands. It works a treat. Thanks very much. BTW, I also tried the Armbian, Debian server but no luck.
  6. pzw The link above doesn't download the image but the client and dependencies. I was able to install the client and dump1090-fa from that link into Armbian Jessie server back in Nov/Dec 2016 and it functioned normally. UPDATE: I reformatted SD card and installed Jessie Lite again. I have updated and upgraded it. I don't know whether to try again or wait for the future update. What do you think I should do? UPDATE 2: I tried installing again and get exactly the same message as in the sudo piaware-status as above
  7. Igor As I recall I had Jessie Server 5.23 running. It was the first OS I was able to download the flightaware Piaware client and operate successfully (from the above link.) I did an update / upgrade to 5.25 and I was no longer able to feed to flightaware but I could see aircraft in my browser via the client server. Flightaware was showing the clock to be in error by about 2 days and some hours but when I tried HWClOCK it updated the system clock but had no affect on the flightaware time error on their page. I have since downloaded then updated / upgraded 5.25 then installed Flightaware Piaware and none of the packages seem to be connected when I do "sudo piaware-status." PZW What operating system are you using? I have tried Jprochazka install on a fresh sd card and OS and I could not get it to work. Having said that, I don't really understand Linux but I have had piaware running successfully on my OpiPc+ from a download back in November last year. It was around February when things went awry.
  8. With an earlier version of Armbian (Server) I was able to use my Orange Pi Pc + to feed data back to Flightaware, Flight Radar, Planefinder, ADSB Exchange. An upgrade put an end to that in the latest version. Is it possible to get this working in future Upgrades of Armbian? Piaware Install
  9. I run Armbian Jessie server on OPi PC+ using flightawares adsb tracker. Flightaware is telling me I have not fead data for 2 days+. This seems to coincide with an Update/Upgrade I did around the 6th Feb. Flightaware are telling me : Restarting ntp does not solve the problem. Can somebody please offer me suggestions to correct this.
  10. If you can modify your thinking you could grow this OS and SBC's. It is all new to me being a MS person. These computers are great. If I could do on this what I can do on a desktop I would get rid of the desktop simply for the space and low power consumption. My RPI is using an rtl sdr to feed data to 4 aviation servers 24/7. That's why I got the OPi to learn Linux. So, how about a tutorial 'Pinned" on downloading a package from GITHUB via the command line, among other tid bits of newbie info :-)
  11. slinde & martinayotte Thanks for the advice. It worked. I didn't realise win32diskimager could burn a RAW file, but it can :-) This has been like a 2 step process for OPI where as there was a single process for the Raspberry Pi3. For the purpose of the exercise I just used the Orange Pi PC file and not the plus. It does seem the version numbers are the same?? I have wireless working and am currently upgrading as I type. SCREEN RESOLUTION With the wide screen TV I was using via HDMI port, it has options for screen ratio on the TV. I selected unscaled and it placed all the text on the screen because prior to this, the orangepi login and password were off the screen. How do you know if you cant see it, right! During the initial start I had the keyboard and mouse plugged into the OPi. This seemed to upset the process so I ended up unplugging them and then startup process was flawless. I then plugged in the keyboard to enter ID and Password. Once again, thanks for the tip.
  12. Thanks guys. I will try that and report back. Thanks for the quick response.
  13. I received my Pi Pc plus today which is strange because I thought I ordered the Pi pc. I downloaded the armbian Jessie desktop and used 7zip to extract it to the sd card. It will not load off the card. It would not load raspbian for the raspberry Pi. What it is doing is loading android whether the sd card is inserted or not. Can anyone offer suggestions to try? OS downloaded from here: http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ It has emmc I can't even make some of the things work on android.??
