  1. I am glad to read this as I recently purchased one for this very purpose. Unfortunately I discovered (from your review) too late that "sata" really means sata-over-usb, because my main criteria was "cheapest given gigabit ethernet + either SATA or usb 3.0". I envisioned attaching it to drives over sata for a home NAS solution with good throughput. Am I misunderstanding what is possible, or do you just have to different class of boards that aren't going to be bottlenecked by USB 2.0? (e.g. ODROID xu4 for instance would have significantly more throughput?) What is the benefit of gigabit ethernet when you are so bottlenecked by USB 2.0?
