a bit late but the problem was I forgot to add the line "[Seat:*]"

I'm using the "Armbian 22.11.1 Lepotato jammy 5.19.17 xfce desktop" image which comes with lightdm windows manger and wayland xserver. I want to use https://github.com/debauchee/barrier but it does not support wayland, so I want to switch to xorg. So far I've tried installing xorg using apt and adding the following line to /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf xserver-command=Xorg but when I do sudo systemctl restart lightdm the display manager hangs forever with blank screen and blinking cursor.
