  1. Hi I would like to run my OrangePi +2e with absolute minimum power consumption ie no display, no wifi, reduced clock speed, etc. I only really need ethernet and USB function. When I first set the OrangePi +2e up I ran Armbian Jessie and there was a package that I downloaded from one of the forums that allowed me to manage such things. I can not find this package again. I don't know if it would work with Stretch. The Armbian Config might do this instead? Any help greatly appreciated. Regards Carlos
  2. Hi I am having problems with my OrangePi +2e. It may be failing and need replacing but I would like to make sure it is not some other issue first. I use the OrangePi +2e as a Network attached audio (NAA) device for HQPlayer running on a MacMini. Since installing Stretch . The NAA now shows H3 Audio Codec as well as the usb input for my digital audio converter. This did not show up when using Xenial. Is there a command to disable H3 Audio Codec? it may be causing a conflict issue? I am unable to return to Xenial as NAA software no longer supports it. Thanks in advance Carl Mawer
  3. Hi Looking at purchasing an Orange Pi + 2E The application I need to run on it requires libstdc++6 (>=5.2) for installation. I think that the Jessie image has version 4.9.2-10 of libstdc++6. Is there a way around this problem? Regard Carl
  4. Do you think the Orange Pi+ 2E would be suitable? It has gigabit ethernet and a couple of other features that would be nice , like power button and dc power socket. Or would the Odroid C2 be a better choice? Very similar prices when delivered. The Neo does the job I want it to do but I want to run it through fibre ethernet. Regards Carl
  5. Unfortunately no dip switches/jumpers visible. I am sure you are correct that it is an auto negotiation issue as the fibre set up works perfectly with my mac mini. The fibre converter is not getting the information from the Neo that it requires to set speed etc. I am reluctant to purchase a NanoPi 2 fire with gigabit ethernet port as the same issue may still persist. Your help and advice is greatly appreciated. I have no expertise in networking or unix. Regards Carl
  6. Thanks for your help pzw I have installed ethtool and run the command (ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off) The Neo accepted this command. No luck still no lan connection using the fibre media converters. Running ethtool -i eth0 I get the following driver: sunxi_geth version: SUNXI Gbgit driver V1.1 firmware-version: expansion-rom-version: bus-info: supports-statistics: no supports-test: no supports-eeprom-access: no supports-register-dump: no supports-priv-flags: no I see that NanoPi have a NanoPi 2 fire that has a gigabit ethernet port. Do you think I would have more luck if I got one of those? Thanks Carl
  7. Hi pzw I have just tried that but got the reply ethtool unknown command I then tried set eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off which appeared to be accepted but made no difference. Still no connection via fibre media converters
  8. Hi I am trying to use a pair of fibre media converters to connect to my NEO. The converters say they support IEEE802.3U/1000Base-Tx protocol, as well as 10/100/1000M auto-negotiation full and half duplex. I get no lan connection. I have tested the converters by plugging them into my mac mini and they work fine. Any thoughts? Regards Carl
  9. Hi I managed to get my Neo running with a 5v linear power supply through the TTL To RS232 Module(PSU-ONECOM). The problem I had was that the linear supply came up to voltage slowly and the Neo would not boot. The solution was to turn the linear power supply on before inserting the jack into the TTL To RS232 Module(PSU-ONECOM) Hope this helps others. Regard Carls
  10. Hi Having now got my NEO to work as a Network Attached Audio Device I want to power it with a 5V linear power supply. Do I use the TTL To RS232 Module(PSU-ONECOM)connected like http://www.friendlyarm.com/image/catalog/description/NanoPi-NEO_en_07.jpgWill this power the board without the micro usb connected? Regards Carl
  11. Thanks Christos and Thomas Up and running with my USB Dac The problem was that HQPlayer NAA would not install with the Jessie build because it requires libstdc++6 greater than 5.1 The Xenial build allowed HQPlayer NAA to be installed properly Thanks for your help.
  12. Hi Linux imbecile here. Do any of the Armbian distros have the USB port operational? I want to use my Neo as a NAA device for HQPlayer. I don't know if I have not installed HQPlayer NAA correctly onto my Neo or if the NAA is not seeing my DAC because the USB port is disabled. I am currently using ARMBIAN Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 3.4.112-sun8i. Any help greatly appreciated. Regards Carl
  13. Hi I need some help please. I surprised myself by getting my Neo up and running using the original Armbian image that was on this site for the Neo. I was also able to download and run HQPlayer NAA on my neo. (Not bad for never having anything to do with unix before.) When the new Vanilla image became available I flashed that to my micro sd and restarted the Neo. No flashing blue light as per original install. No IP Address showing on my router. My guess is that whatever tells the Neo to boot from SD is corrupted? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
