Cubietruck on Ubuntu 16.04 Kernel 4.11.6-sunxi: suddenly no sound
martin-by replied to martin-by's topic in Allwinner sunxi
UPDATE: Found the workaround: suni4-codec & sun4-sndspdif were not be loaded anymore (why? I do not know). The test with modprobe was positive Adding both modules into /etc/modules file and rebooting the system get all function again. Best regards from Bavaria, Martin -
Hello, in my installation all works fine and smooth. But after tryout of exagear (install and purge) my soundcard is not available any more (SPDIF). MPD/MPC is working well, but not sound out. apt shows a up-to-date system. aplay -L shows only pulseaudio server. lsmod : see my attached file lsmod.out. Any idea to bring sound back without any reinstallation? Thanks for for any idea to solve my problem Best regards, Martin

Hello, now my system is running well on my Cubietruck: (ARMBIAN Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS 4.8.1-sunxi) Booting from SDCard rootfs on SSD (installed via nand-sata-install script) Whereas a image backup of SDCard is easy, how to backup my rootfs on SSD for system fallback Szenario: Is there any good script to backup rootfs of SSD with shrinking function to get small backup files? simply TAR of "/" of SSD? Use of webmin backup functionality (howto store this backup on network drive outside my Cubietruck)? Best Regards, Martin

Hello, now all is running well (soundcard found, MPD plays over ALSA). new sdcard image apt update & upgrade dpkg -i of new Kernel deb setup of mpd, minidlna, webmin mounting my HDD permanently to /mnt/HDD installing my SSD via usb sata adapter running nand-sata-install script Thank you for this!!!! Best Regards, Martin

Thank you for today! Tomorrow I give a fresh installation a try.
-
I moved rootfs via dd command manually and changed the boot.cmd . Should I change my boot.cmd back to boot from sdcard (?) and : performing the upgrade to new kernel again run the nand-sata-install script the to overwrite my SSD? EDIT: Or should I start with a fresh SDCARD installation?

So, after installing --and a reboot-- both files all other devices are gone (wifi, Bluetooth, ..) and none soundcard is detected. This is my actual lsmod: Module Size Used by pwrseq_simple 2322 1 uas 12903 1 realtek 2775 0 Must be the /boot directory the same on mmcblk0p1 and my SSD (now my root directory)? How to reset to old kernel?

Hello zador.blood.stained, thank you for your quick response!! I am still learning on Linux: I have to install both .deb files using "dpkg -i" command, right? Best regards, Martin

MPD fails to start: libavformat-ffmpeg issue?
martin-by replied to martin-by's topic in Allwinner sunxi
Hello, today I made a upgrade & dist-upgrade, it seems MPD & MINIDLNA starts the service now. Thank you! Remark: but mounting a HDD partition in fstab fails and after boot the system hangs. My entry in fstab from old config is: UUID=638a7add-21ee-4cf7-8c1e-095c4ae727ff /mnt/HDD ext4 user, sync 0 0 Any hint for this? UPDATE: after falling back to my backup I realized the root of permanent reboot: Installed software after update & dist-upgrade : WEBMIN, MPD, MINIDLNA (proper reboot of system) apt install cups: no reboot any more (reboot within minutes) Are there any other problems within package? UPDATE2: OK, my fault. After installing my SSD for root device (deactivating tempfs & swap within fstab also) CUPS can be installed easily without any problems. Best regards, Martin -

Hello, I made a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 lts (ARMBIAN) on armhf cubietruck (Armbian_5.20_Cubietruck_Ubuntu_xenial_3.4.112) . libav-tools is installed along with MPD & MPC. service mpd status reports: "mpd[6770]: /usr/bin/mpd: error while loading shared libraries: libavformat-ffmpeg.so.56: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" What is missing to start MPD?
