Are there any news about mali driver for s912? I have beelink gt2 with debian-xfce installed. Mouse pointer is blinking...
glxinfo show it uses vmware driver...

My device RT5370
1) INTEL
I tried it on intel PC. It works fine.
dmesg has line
[ 4098.489842] ieee80211 phy1: rt2x00_set_rf: Info - RF chipset 5370 detected [ 4098.525834] ieee80211 phy1: rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Info - Loading firmware file 'rt2870.bin'
2) BANAN
dmesg has lines
[ 16.911706] usbcore: registered new interface driver rt2870 [ 22.671287] phy0 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware.
Intel has file /usr/lib/firmware/rt2870.bin --- Banan has file /lib/firmware/rt2870.bin
intel doesn't have loaded module rt5370sta --- Banan has loaded module rt5370sta
May be banan doesn't know about file rt2870.bin?

Stil get
"phy1 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware."
I thought rt5370 requires open drivers rt2800lib,rt2800usb,rt2x00usb.
It works fine out of the box on intel pc with this drivers, I was able to run it on same bananapi with openwrt.
What can this message about firmware mean...?

apt install armbian-firmware-full
should solve this problem.
It has't helped (

I can't get wifi rt5370 working at banana pi m1 on Ubuntu xenial default desktop.
dmesg show:
phy1 -> rt2x00lib_request_firmware: Error - Failed to request Firmware.Looks like modules(rt2x00usb,rt2800lib,rt2800usb) are loadede but wifi still don't work.

There is link to wiki at s905 topic on the first page.

There are only 4 dtb's
gxl_p212_1g
gxl_p212_2g
gxm_q200_2g
kvim
I also found vega-95 at yandex disk.
Where I can get vega-s96?
-
Thanks. Where I can get dtb for beelink gt1?
dbt file names on sdcard look strange...
I tried gxm_q200_2g and gxl..-2gb, system booted but eth0 didn't get address and fiwi interface didn't present
Looks like eht0 didn't work with this 2 dtbs.

Did anybody manage to run linux-4.* kernel on beelink gt1 ?
I tried Armbian_5.32_S905X_S912_Debian_jessie_4.9.26_server_20170823.img and Armbian_5.32_S905X_S912_Ubuntu_xenial_4.9.26_server_20170823.img
Neither of them work for me. I didn't put any dtb just run as it was. No monitor image. No ssh.

cray:

ramspeed
8core_hotplug 1460
8core_ondemand 1141
4core_ondemand 5133
4core_hotplug 5103
cpufreq-set -g hotplug, just set 4 first cores to hotpug mode, other stays ondemand.

I've run tomcat site test. xxx/yyy - (java logic time) /(jsp-time[single thread])
8 cores
1543/1255 518/932 530/570 579/579 690/365 535/339 688/454 715/384
4 cores915/530 755/570 572/448 715/285 457/401 453/357 508/261 394/259 467/354 398/191 326/146
Look like 4 cores really better especially jsp(single core) computing.
Here is bananapi1(A20) results
965/489 856/558 865/326 1108/556 1044/319 851/532 821/301 851/588 735/284

Thank you, Shimon.
You are right. Now result 5000 versus 1000 before.
I gonna check java performance later.
-
Somebody please run pts/ramspeed test. (at least 1)copy 1)integer)
I can't sleep calmly, I think something wrong with my beelink gt1 ....)
-
I did it just one time.
I think you have to update android firmware - choose something like aml_autoscript in boot directory on sdcard.
Try to find more info on first 2 pages
-
You need update android to boot from sdcard, as I understand.
Try to use power on remote.

C-ray give 114.94 points result ( http://openbenchmarking.org/result/1704125-SANE-CRAYEMP79)
I expected A53 S912 core would be 2 times faster then A7 allwinner A20 core.(according to geekbench)
Shimon, what do you think about low memory test result.
I have Beelink GT1(SN:A912** -> AP6255)
Any idea which dbt I shoult try? -
I've run ramspeed test, and got awfull result as Shimon. Maybe it is the reason of java performance.
Shimon S905 - 3791
Shimon Alfa S912 - 1467
my beelink gt1 2G 32G - 1162
http://openbenchmarking.org/result/1704119-SANE-A30541491
I don't use any dtd. I tried beellink.dtd and got no lan.
Temp during the test was like 59 *C
-
It is look like my beelink gt1(last debian) works as slow as bananapi_1(A20 fedora mainline) on single core tasks...
They both use oracle jdk. Jsp execution gets same time and some other tasks too.
1 core A20 = 1 core S912 ?????
Does anybody know good java benchmark?

From Mali T830 GPU (s912) Linux for Amlogic is not licensed , so it is not freely available.
Thanks.
Did I undertand you correctly?
It's best gpu support that I can get from this build(5.27 debian).
For s905 this build provides gpu driver and vdpau facility.
Anyway thank you for build. I am gonna use it as headless server.

1. Already have version 5.27 , it is better to try it.
2. To measure the resolution need edit file /boot/amlogics905x_init.sh. It was discussed many times, look in this thread or the topic s905\s905x.
3. to monitor temperature You can use the command "armbianmonitor -m"
Thanks.
I've just installed latest 5.27 Debian xfce.
glxinfo says
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa Project OpenGL renderer string: Software Rasterizer OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 10.3.2 OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20 OpenGL extensions:
On ubuntu it was something about VMware.
Looks like GUI works slow without mali gpu driver. I don't see mali in lsmod output.
Do I need install it manually?
I have 1920x1200 monitor.
Update. After setting up resolution it became little bit faster.
mplayer says: Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_sunxi.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Thanks, balbes150.

Hello. I've installed latest ubuntu-5.26 mate on beelink gt1 2G/32G very easy for first time.
Seems like it has not gpu driver, I also have low resolution. I've installed 5.24 firmvare and libmali. Nothing is changed.
What do I have to do? Do I have to use 5.24 ubuntu instead of 5.26?
Lmsensor does not see any sensors also(via sensors-detect). How to fix it?
Upd: When I login via ssh I can see CPU Temp in invite message. How to watch it else.
Thanks.
NVMe boot successful

What type of m2 key would be better for OP5?
Would cheap aliexpress ssd (netac kingspeck) with b+m key be good for it?
