Had orange pi pc, can I write armbian img file to USB and boot from USB directly? my two sd cards failed less than 2 years, so consider to use USB drive instead

arm device better as server. Even orange pi pc could be as desktop computer, but the experience is not cheerful as x86 pc, probably just OK for geeks. almost impossible to replace PC by orange pi if not familiar with linux, Go to chromebook if you are looking for easy and economic solution. However, that would be a different story if your friends want to "play" arm devices.

Sorry I need to use Debian, My PC has been running Armbian Debian. I always think Armbian image much better than official one, unfortunately no Debian for PC2

Thanks, unfortunately I am not capable of image DIY , so I have to use the ugly Debian image from official website. For this image, it's better to install below two first before doing something. 1. ntp 2. locale Overall, PC2 is not impressive as a server, $10 lite/$15 pc enough. Neverthless, PC2 performs faster and better than PC when running desktop/android, but be careful: CPU gets very hot, heat sink is a must in my opinions.

SD card: Running Android image from official website slowly, perhaps emmc is better than SD card for desktop image/application. 4. Remote control: can use universal TV box control 5. As server? perhaps $10 orange one is enough for general use. Just noticed: no image from armbian, any schedule to release image?
