Perhaps sometime the dts issue will be resolved ;) output.log
  2. I just finished a compile without the dts patches, that compiles OK (because the vcc_3v3 regulator definition is in imx6ql-sr-som.dtsi). Nevertheless it is a good thing to setup a Ubuntu Bionic machine and take it from there.
  3. Don't worry, pleased with your help already, even if it takes longer
  4. It looks as if the Armbian imx6dl-cubox-i.dts dtsi includes do not have the vcc_3v3 regulator defined. When I replace imx6qdl-sr-som.dtsi with the one from the SR 4.9.y kernel, then imx6dl-cubox-i.dts compiles without issues. But, then it fails on one of the next dts: arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-hummingboard2.dts:46:10: fatal error: imx6qdl-sr-som-brcm.dtsi: No such file or directory #include "imx6qdl-sr-som-brcm.dtsi" ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ compilation terminated. scripts/Makefile.lib:317: recipe for target 'arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-hummingboard2.dtb' failed make[1]: *** [arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-hummingboard2.dtb] Error 1 arch/arm/Makefile:348: recipe for target 'dtbs' failed make: *** [dtbs] Error 2 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... I don't know why you don't get an error...
  5. A fresh clone of the build scripts and no modifications, but the result is exactly the same, compile error on imx6dl-cubox-i.dts output.log patching.log Edit: which build host are you using?
  6. question: does it have an influence that you are building version 5.52 and mine was 5.51?
  7. Hi, I'm trying to build the next kernel (4.14.y) for Cubox-i, but the process fails here: DTC arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-cubox-i.dtb Error: arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6qdl-cubox-i.dtsi:261.1-9 Label or path vcc_3v3 not found FATAL ERROR: Syntax error parsing input tree scripts/Makefile.lib:317: recipe for target 'arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-cubox-i.dtb' failed make[1]: *** [arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-cubox-i.dtb] Error 1 arch/arm/Makefile:348: recipe for target 'dtbs' failed make: *** [dtbs] Error 2 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... When I compiled the kernel approx. 2 months ago (4.15.?) I did not get that error. Any ideas?
  8. @TonyMac32Sorry about the delay, I don’t read the forum very often (you can contact me at volumio(at)bluewin.ch) I don’t believe we will get any improvement for the buggy usb drivers in 3.14.79, so I dropped my efforts for Odroids. We did release a newer version, which should improve support for a range of usb dacs (including dsd support). I have informed Asus about it and they did add the patches to their latest 4.4.x kernel too. As soon as Baylibre releases i2s audio drivers for amlogic, I will drop the 3.14.79 kernel for Odroid C2 and move to mainline.
  9. FYI: I compiled two Tinkerboard 4.4 kernels today, one from kwiboo's repo, branch "tinkerboard-4.4" and the one I got from Asus directly, they now published it as the TinkerBoard repo Kwiboo's boots and reboots, but so does the one from the Asus TinkerBoard repo. Actually including onboard WLAN and also working as a hotspot. Don't use GCC6 on Kwiboo's, unless you want to spend your time bug fixing (e.g. misleading indentation etc. ), in the end I just disabled the restrictive checking in the Makefile.
  10. Something else, I can't get reboot to work, does anyone have an idea where to start looking? Any hint would be appreciated.
  11. we have not decided yet to change, @Igor does a good job keeping the kernel up-to-date. The one I pointed to will work, but may not be that current. I'll give it a go at the weekend, for a headless install that might be sufficient. Something else I noticed about "our" kernel: reboot does not work. I solved the issue of the changing eth0 mac address with 2 patches for u-boot. I use mainline u-boot 2017.05-rc2 In case anyone is interested, one patch is rockchip: tinker: set ethaddr in late init and the other one i2c_eeprom: add read and write functions
  12. The TinkerOS kernel is now on github: https://github.com/TinkerBoard/debian_kernel
  13. @TonyMac32 Thanks for the hint, that might be another option for improvement and because of the huge amount of interrupts, looking at changing cpu affinity could help too. However, when I checked the cpu governor, it appeared to be set to "powersave", definitely not what I intended. After changing this to "performance" the jittering has gone. There are still a lot of settings to improve I guess....
  14. Hi, Thank you all that have been doing the work here, I really appreciate this. I've just finished my first version of a Volumio (volumio.org) port to Tinkerboard and have compiled the Armbian kernel and u-boot discussed in this topic. Volumio is up and running ok, but.... as I had no time to check DACs and/or SoC sound drivers yet, I added the USB Audio driver as a module. Output with my (otherwise perfect) XMOS based USB Audio is horrible, there is something terribly wrong with usb/ usb audio driver, never came across so much jittering and glitches. I have not checked anything yet, but suspect hub bandwidth sharing. Has anyone else tried with a USB Audio device?
