  1. I paste my log since I'm having also this issue. I'm trying to compile something and the CPU is crazy, every 5 minutes restart. http://ix.io/1EJ4 Armbian 5.75 Stretch, last build just installed today in a fresh microsd. Can these lines be the source of the problem? [ 4.404838] thermal thermal_zone1: binding zone cpu-thermal with cdev thermal-cpufreq-0 failed:-17 [ 4.576372] thermal thermal_zone0: failed to read out thermal zone (-110) [ 4.576424] OF: /thermal-zones/cpu-thermal: arguments longer than property [ 4.576435] thermal thermal_zone2: failed to read out thermal zone (-110) I hope this gets fixed as soon as possible. Thanks for your hard work! :)
  2. Yes Igor, I disable wifi as well because I don't want to have on anything is not being used. So, I have to stick with Armbian which is cool because I really like it (my OPIPC works flawlessly thanks to it), so maybe my board is defective. I don't have multimeter at the moment at home, and buying one would be more expensive than buying a new OPIPC jaja. I will wait for a new Armbian release, maybe it will be fixed through software Anyways these days I'm thinking about buying an OPIPC2, I don't want to stick with the mini mini boards, just the regular ones, I've had enough with the Zero thingie and I also need a more powerful PC to start testing and pushing it, I hope Armbian for H5 on the OPIPC2 works as good as the one for the OPIPC, maybe not now but in the near future Thank you for all your effort!
  3. But then, if those temperatures are false, what is causing the board to hang up after certain time? will it cease to freeze if I use a regular image from the official site, like Raspbian or Ubuntu Core? My major concern is that, I don't want to have a board which is hanging up after a few hours for no reason, now I don't really care what to use, I just want it to be reliable Thank you for your help.
  4. good, then I will check what revision I have of the board. Since I left it at the office I will need to wait till monday. But, what will happen if I have v1.4? will it be solved software-wise in the future? I hope so, otherwise I will have to order a new one
  5. Sorry, I explained wrong. When I get that temp is when I'm running Mopidy, playing music. I leave armbianmonitor for some minutes and I see those temps. When I'm on idle I get around 60ºC, but it does not matter, the board gets stuck somehow and terminates SSH sessions forever after some time, plus the annoying music stutter. The only thing I can do is to unplug it and wait 15-20 minutes to turn it on again. I don't really know what version of the board I have, never checked but the extension board says v1.1. Does it have to match with the Opi Zero?
  6. I know this is a well known topic but since I didn't find an issue like the one I'm having I felt the need of explaining it. I recently bought an Orange Pi Zero board + extension board with AV, micro and 2 additional USB + case. During the 3 days I've been testing it I've been having a lot of issues related maybe to the heat (or maybe not). I have built a streaming media server called Mopidy, which is pretty cool but at certain times it completely hangs when I'm reproducing audio (by the way, I'm using only stable Debian / Ubuntu because kernel 4.11 isn't detecting the soundcard for some reason). It sometimes takes 1 hour to get stuck, other times maybe 2 or 3 hours, it's totally random. Then the music starts to stutter, the web interface becomes unaccessible and SSH as well. I have tried using it without installing anything, only plain Debian / Ubuntu in both branches, experimental and stable, and no avail, soon or later SSH becomes unaccessible. I've tried it inside / outside of the case, with and without the extension board and it does the same, it hangs after some time. An interesting thing is that when it hangs I can not simply unplug the power supply and connect it again, because even seeing the board is loading by the ethernet lights it does not accept SSH connections anymore. I have to leave it like 15-20 minutes without plugging it to the electricity again or else I won't be able to use SSH. I have set up the cpu freq with a min value of 240 and a max value of 800 and same, it overheats without a reason. My question is, what is going on with this board? is it defective or the problem is about the lack of software support? when I leave the armbianmonitor running it gets almost 80ºC, 76ºC without the case and in my room I have about 20ºC. I have never had any problem with my Orange Pi PC and I've tried lot of stuff on it. Regarding my experience now I feel like I had to spend $6 more to get an OPi PC instead of this one If someone could help I would be very happy. Thank you!
  7. Mmm, so I should open the cable, and splice the ones which are marked as 4 (yellow and red) to the 4th ring of the minijack?, hilarious but if that's the only solution I will do. But I think I prefer to use old connectors with a broken minijack I have around the room, I will try to fix it the way you tell me. Thank you!
  8. I updated to armbian 5.14, changed the settings as jernej says but still no image. I don't understand the picture with the cable in the link. What does it mean 4 is red & yellow together?. My cables are 3 wires, and I plug them separetely to their colors. I try every connector with the yellow in the TV, but no image. It either is a problem about not being reading orangepipc.bin at boot (despite I have OrangePi PC board) or there are other options interfering in analog TV out. To make sure the latter is not the problem I would ask the whole orangepipc.bin or fex to someone who made it working. Thanks.
  9. Thank you for your help. Unfortunatelly, I've made the changes and the video does not seem to work through analog. I checked the cable, and used a second one, and it does not work. I swapped red with yellow, as some people states in the forum you said and it isn't showing either. I don't know if the problem is related with the version of Armbian I'm using. since I have 5.04. The options I changed are: [disp_init] screen0_output_type = 2 screen0_output_type = 14 (for NTSC) disp_mode = 0 (for 480i) [hdmi_para] hdmi_used = 0 hdcp_enable = 0 [tv_para] tv_used = 1 tv_dac_used = 1 tv_dac_src0 = 0 Maybe I'm missing some other configuration? Thanks!
  10. Hello; My OrangePi PC HDMI port is dead, it throws no input signal, and I've read that this board has no ESD protection for HDMI, so I assume it died because of it. What I want to get is video working through analog TV out, but I can't seem to find the solution for this. I guess it should be simple task, but I never did it before. Hopefuly somebody can give me the solution. Thanks!
  11. Well, as I see ffmpeg is needed to use hardware acceleration with the Orange PI, and both procedures are significantly different. The first one, with RagnerBG procedure you install everything you want manually, appart from ffmpeg, the second procedure is about installing the pure ffmpeg from the git, as a sole packet I guess. I would stick with both of them and see which one works in a better complete way. I just really think that vdpau is the most important thing, isn't it? because without it (at least for me) I have no video acceleration at all (I'm talking about SMPlayer, for example). Thank you for your help!
  12. I see. That's unfortunate, but you're right. But I've been thinking about ARM GPU which are directly compatible with OPENGL (like PowerVR). Does it mean that it would work like in a normal desktop-laptop GPU? I mean, having a Linux distro compatible with that SoC. I can guess those problems about OpenGLES are not derivated from being too new but from Allwinner way of doing things.
  13. Ohhh, does it mean that it is close to be able to implement a new mali driver for armbian and hence for other distros as well? I hope it, because that's been the everlasting problem in all GPU's since ancient times, drivers. Thank you for your effort!
  14. I've tried that before, but it does not quite work at all. You can enable hardware aceleration on Chrome but forcing it will end working slower than it usually does through software aceleration. I've tried it without success. Maybe MALI isn't compatible with Chromium at all? I really don't know but I started to think about it...
