  1. Bumping this thread but things around us are moving so I wonder if something has changed regarding HW acceleratioon in desktop. I am happy with LibreElec for watching video, it works great, but I very much like to use this "orange" as WebRTC client. I tried Chromium on bionic, but the performance was horrible, as expected - 100% CPU and majority of frames was dropped. Absolutely unusable. Please, is there any "chromium kiosk" using accelerated wayland or something like that? I do not see into technicals, so maybe I am off the track here, sorry...
  2. OK, I found the problem. The territory in /usr/share/i18n/locales/sk_SK is "Slovakia", but the state (variable $STATE) from ipwhois.app service is "Slovak Republic". So no match. I think that this may be a problem for several other countries as well. I wonder if this is the good approach. For example I like to set my machines in slovak language but with US keyboard. At least this should be optional, or guided. Maybe not automatic but after password change print message something like: "If you want to automatically set locale based on your IP address, run [command]". Also I really do not like the idea of call some web service without prior notice to user... Anyway it seems that that "IF to skip creation if LOCALES are undetermined" is something that will help and I would definitely add it if it was up to me.
  3. Yes, that line was in file at first run and also I left it uncommented. So there is another problem. I will try to figure out what is expected and what my system returns. If you have some hints feel free to write them
  4. Thanks for response. In fact that was my third attempt reflashing and rebooting, so with high probability I have eliminated the HW cause. Based on that issue 2398 I commented out some lines regarding locale settings in /usr/lib/armbian/armbian-firstlogin and now it finished OK. Maybe the problem is that "Genrating locales" needs variable ${LOCALES}, however in my instance it is empty (as you can see in the screenshot)
  5. Still have same problem, nothing after 90 minutes. It is a first boot and connecting via ssh. I set a new root password and then stuck. Is there any other workaround? Obviously when using ssh disconnecting ethernet is not an option for me. Maybe editing some config file on sdcard? Thanks.
  6. great it works, many thanx for super quick response!
  7. Please, can anybody clarify what is current status of HW acceleration? For several days I tried browsing for information, compiling different things but it seems no HW decode for now. I pretty much don't care about anything but playing HW accelerated video fullscreen on OrangePi PC 2. Is there old Xenial with 3.4.y kernel available? It is not in archives no more, or is it? Don't care for any support, I need an image only. Thanks!
  8. Hi, I have Orange Pi PC 2. I am very happy with armbian on it - it's beta but works like a charm. One problem - I need screen resolution 1680 x 1050. I've read different posts about editing armbianEnv.txt or boot.cmd, tried those things but nothing worked. Also some posts like this one says that it's maybe not working for now or not implemented at all. I am really confused and lost. What should I write and where to get resolution I want? Is it implemented? Can anybody write what is the current status of things? Or point me somewhere on this forum? Many thanks!
