svkatielee Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I have just discovered the u-boot help file. On console during power-up, when it says Hit any key to stop autoboot: I hit a key, got a prompt and typed help. Are all the capabilities listed real? pxe, tftpboot, nfs, usbboot, dhcp, bootefi Are many implemented? I did just discover the nfs how-to. -- Larry
zador.blood.stained Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Are all the capabilities listed real? pxe, tftpboot, nfs, usbboot, dhcp, bootefi Are many implemented? Yes, if u-boot has Ethernet support for the target SoC - so this (tftpboot and pxe specifically) would work, for example, for A10/A20 and won't work for H3 yet. NFS boot that was mentioned in HOWTO doesn't require Ethernet support in u-boot, but it requires some kind of storage (SD, eMMC, SPI flash in the future) to load kernel from.
