@jock do you think this is the same on RK3566 chips? I have an Orange pi 3B that works with normal resolution (1080p, 720p 768) but with 1024x600 there is no screen output.

If yes, how would i go about testing it? I see your rockchip64-video-le-patches branch does not have opi3b as it was added later to armbian.

Based on my experience, previous edge image which have been removed from Armbian website (https://www.armbian.com/orangepi3b/), have difficulty communicating with HDMI display. It may fail to boot, or may experience kernel crashes after boot if HDMI is connected. Occasionally, the HDMI display will work fine, but the monitor resolution was incorrect.

 

I have confirmed that the issue has been fixed in the latest 5.10 image, you can give it a try.
