mims Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Hello, I've copied the image of the Debian Jessie Server Legacy 3.10.105 to my 32Gb eMMC with DD (previously was on Android). See attachment for the final result (gParted). Does it sound OK? What is this 4Mb unallocated at the beginning? I tried to boot it but my XU4 only has its blue light lightened up (was blinking when the eMMC was on Android). There is nothing displayed when I plug the HDMI to my TV. I must have missed something... Regards!

You missed this thread in this subforum and notice on the "Known issues" tab. eMMC currently requires a special installation procedure - u-boot has to be loaded from SD and then transferred to eMMC either by issuing commands from serial console or by editing boot script. 1
mims Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 In fact, I read this topic already So in short : 1) install Debian on SD card 2) plug it into the XU4 with the emmc 3) switch to boot from SD 4) run command copy_uboot_sd2emmc 5) switch to boot from eMMC 6) Enjoy ?
mims Posted March 11, 2017 Author Posted March 11, 2017 Which OS do I need to install on the SD card ?

Same latest Armbian image that you were going to use on eMMC, or other latest Armbian legacy release. Edited March 11, 2017 by zador.blood.stained Clarification - legacy kernel based image is required
