Cryptdisks fail with new Kernel 4.10.12

Recommended Posts

i recently upgraded my armbian from Kernel 4.9.something to 4.10.12. After the upgrade cryptdisks wont decrypt my partitions

 * Starting crypto disk...                                                                                                                                                         * cryptdisk (starting)..
Unlocking the disk /dev/disk/by-uuid/61c92288-ff55-4a33-8655-db31a017dab3 (cryptdisk)\nEnter passphrase:  ********
device-mapper: reload ioctl on  failed: No such file or directory
Failed to setup dm-crypt key mapping for device /dev/disk/by-uuid/61c98288-ff55-4a53-8655-cd31a017dab3.
Check that kernel supports aes-xts-plain64 cipher (check syslog for more info).

and in the syslog

[561733.215457] device-mapper: table: 254:0: crypt: Error allocating crypto tfm
[561733.222552] device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table

Any ideas? there seem to be no modules missing and the crypto functions are there
