Plymouth-quit-wait.service hangs booting

OrangePiPc2, ubuntu noble, unofficial image build, only terminal. Everything worked until I decided to install lxde. Ever since at booting it cannot get over plymouth-quit-wait.service/start running (24min 18s / no limit) how can I get to terminal at least?

Same issue on  Orange Pi 5, it used to start fast then hangs for ~ 1mn after some upgrades.

Get the microsd card mounted in your linux laptop

 

Open /boot/armbianEnv.txt

Add the line:

extraargs=plymouth.enable=0 disablehooks=plymouth

When you get booted in your armbian OS:

sudo apt remove plymouth
