Bpi-m2 Wifi (AP6181 - brcmfmac sdio) Hostapd karma/mana? monitoring??

Hi all,

 

I have on the board the AP6181 Wirelesss (brcmfmac_sdio).

 

I try use like AP and works, but isnt work Karma, mana and monitoring....

Somebody know some patch or driver to make this work? Or i need to find an ARM board with atheros or ralink??

 

Because i never find one!!

if you mean "iw list" details, I have a pair of realtek 8812AU and they are working but no details available "easily"

Hi,

 

In the website of https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers, i can see that the driver brcmfmac of AP6181 support this:

 

 

And suppor this hardware:

 

 

But if i install the driver firmware-brcm80211 i can´t use monitoring mode:

 

Here the Chip of AP6181 in wlan0:

 

 

 

I try to start it:

 

 

 

And here the info of iw list... and yeah, i dont see monitoring in interface modes, but the driver would be let me monitoring... true?

"iw list" says "IBSS/managed/AP", no monitoring!

so?

I am not a wifi/kernel expert but I guess it is not registered in "iw list" don't expect monitoring to work.

Yeah but support AP but Karma and Mana dont working with this wireless...

I search for you that info and i discover that i need that the card support master mode...

Need to work:

You'll need a wifi card that supports master mode. You can check whether it does by running: iw list You want to see "AP" in the output. Something like:

Supported interface modes:

* IBSS

* managed

* AP

* AP/VLAN

* monitor

* mesh point

 

So i cant... sorry when i search info for posting what is it i see that specifications... anyway, it's possible in the future get this features changing the driver? or is a hardware limitation? Because some chipset wireless you must to patch to inject or monitoring.
