_francesco_ Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) Hi, just installed Armbian 5.38 mainline (both debian server or Ubuntu server fresh installation). There are two processs eating cpu (kworker), and I read some other users have the same issue, but there is a solution? Other problem: I use this board with Bluetooth dongle to monitor my solar plant. Sometimes Bluetooth dongle disappear from lsusb or hcitool scan tell me device is busy with no reason, just unplug and reconnect usb dongle and all restart to work again (tried with two different Bluetooth dongle, this dongle works with no problem at all in another orange pi pc, no disconnection or disappear). The power supply is the same for both orange pi pc and orange pi 5v 2A. To power banana pi I used first standard microusb connector and then sata power connector directly to power the the board (read about connector power issue). This evening I will add the missing armbianmonitor -u output when Bluetooth is ok an when Bluetooth is not working. Edited February 27, 2018 by _francesco_
vlad59 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Please check https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/linux-sunxi/lucas|sort:date/linux-sunxi/bVEsjQRNVSo/nTa3rpOyAQAJ for a workaround.
_francesco_ Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Thank you vlad59 added rmmod sun4i_gpadc_iio rmmod sun4i_gpadc in /etc/rc.local and now kworker cpu usage has gone. Now for the bluetooth i will try to make a bypass cable : the +5v from power supply is conneted directly to the usb bluetooth dongle...
vlad59 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Please note that removing those two modules mean that the kernel won't know if the SOC temp is too high (check dmesg afterwards) About your bluetooth dongle problem, I would guess it's a power supply problem. My two Banana Pis are powered with a 2A Power supply through the micro usb, they both have a SSD connected and one of them also has a bluetooth BLE (cheapest one on ebay) adapter and I have no problem (+100 days uptime). The BLE Usb device is used every 20s to check for specific BLE tracker to check for home presence and there was no glitch for a few months.
_francesco_ Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 The only difference in the usb power between orange pi pc and banana ( if i'm not wrong) is that banana has a step up converter (axp209). well , i'll try to test another psu..... or bypass directly the axp209 Could you suggest me a good class 1 bluetooth fully compatible with banana pi ? the actual bluetooth (used now in orange pi and fully working) Bus 007 Device 002: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 224 _francesco_ Posted March 5, 2018 Author Posted March 5, 2018 So I got the log with armbianmonitor -u http://ix.io/SMr 4 mar boot: [ 9422.035588] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 2 [ 9422.618182] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 3 using ohci-platform [ 9423.100066] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0a12, idProduct=0001 [ 9423.100081] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 9423.100091] usb 3-1: Product: BT2.0 [10894.702587] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 3 [10895.292545] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 4 using ohci-platform [10895.775054] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0a12, idProduct=0001 [10895.775073] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [10895.775083] usb 3-1: Product: BT2.0 [13759.620173] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 4 [13760.195726] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 5 using ohci-platform [13760.678008] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0a12, idProduct=0001 [13760.678018] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [13760.678024] usb 3-1: Product: BT2.0 [14830.486566] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 5 [47722.111511] zram: Removed device: zram0 [47722.134578] zram: Removed device: zram1 the Bluetooth stays online for about 4/5 days. Yesterday evening I restart the 123solar application and all was working fine. This morning I found no usb Bluetooth adapter (no device in the lsusb output). I tried to reboot bananapi from command line with no success: no device even after reboot. After unplug then reconnect the usb adapter all working ok. The relevant logs are from 4 march to 5 march (this morning).
vlad59 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 For now I only limited access to the Banana pi with BT 4.0 USB. As soon as I get a proper SSH, I'll send you the lsusb output.
