Standard DNS settings and Privacy

Recommended Posts

I have a question regarding standard DNS server entry in resolv.conf:

The Google DNS is at the top followed by the one supplied by my DHCP service. That way the Google server will be queried first, which I think is wrong, considering privacy implications. Why is it hardcoded anyway? As I understand it, it comes from /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head? this should not include anything.

Would be nice If somebody could clarify why it is implemented that way.
