artyom.h31 Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Hello. I've received a SATA to USB 3.0 adapter from the Pine64 store. The problem is than the adapter is not fully SAT compliant, so hdparm doesn't work with it. It is described better in this post. And there's an updated firmware for the JMS578 chip which fixes this issue. However, it was made for another device (Odroid HC1), not the device I have. Is it safe to use this firmware in my adapter? Or maybe there's even more fresh firmware exists for JMS578 chips?
artyom.h31 Posted November 9, 2018 Author Posted November 9, 2018 Update: I've taken a risk and upgraded my adapter to v173.01.00.01. Everything works perfectly! Original firmware was 108.x.x.x or something similar. P.S. At least it works for me. I don't have any official information about the compatibility.
Truly Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 @artyom.h31, sorry to bring this thread to life again, but can you tell me where did you find the update tool and the firmware?

Truly Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Silly me, I didn't follow the link to the odroid wiki Thanks for pointing this out, I'll try to update the firmware of MAIVO K104A USB 3.0 to SATA adapter and see if it will help me out. The problem is that the Samsung EVO SSD 1TB is working very slow with this adapter and Odroid N2.
