GBEM got a reaction from Hqnicolas in Efforts to develop firmware for H96 MAX V56 RK3566 8G/64G
Greetings, H96 Max V56 developers,
I got 1Gb Ethernet, basic WiFi6, and the full Bluetooth5.4 suite of capabilities from the new H96 hardware, running my 6.12.44 kernel, Home Assistant OS port.
Thanks especially @WINEDS for the stellar foundation, and to @GmP for the final piece of the Bluetooth puzzle.

Heya,
Of interest to anyone encountering the 2025 AIC8800 WiFi and Bluetooth hardware, and who is using Buildroot; this is the package that builds and installs everything into a Home Assistant image.
Of academic interest in the present discussion also, offering minor suggestions in dts and service file. The build process may be portable?

Thanks, @WINEDS.
I see you guy's are all over it, have at least the Ethernet sorted, and hints on the path to WiFi.
I found an AllWinner CPU board from Radxa, that uses the same network peripherals as the newer H96 Max V56.
The Radxa Cubie A5E is reported to feature WiFi6 and Bluetooth 5.4(?) using it's BLink BL-M8800DS2, which would be a step-up for me.
https://docs.radxa.com/en/cubie/a5e/other-system/tina-os/build-system <- bsp, etc.
Wish me luck.

Thanks, @Hqnicolas
Curiously, It's both the reset button method, and eMMC CLK shorting MASK ROM modes that go away. The device boots into MASK ROM mode, as opposed to a normal boot, however there's no USB device available to flash with. Trash the bootloader and you get the MASK ROM (CLK shorting) mode back.
I'm not bothered by it. It's just something to be aware of I guess. Sooner or later someone is going to say that their box is comprehensively bricked. Without an SD card socket or TTL port to upset the offending eMMC bootloader, to a certain extent that may be true.
Golly, I can't tell you all just how very pleased I am with Armbian on my H96 Max V56 TV box. It works so remarkably well, and is a tremendous credit to all those that have diligently worked on it, and have brought it to this stage. I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Awesome!
