  1. @humanus You are a very nice guy!
  2. I previously tested the USB-to-Ethernet adapter on version 6.6, and it worked perfectly. However, I haven't tested it on 6.18 yet.
  3. @humanus Are we talking about the A7S? Doesn't it already have a ethernet port? 😂
  4. So, you set up the wifi on the DP display...
  5. @alexc 1. This Ethernet cable works perfectly on other devices and has never had any loose connection issues. 2. The A7S board also works fine with this same cable when booting other systems. 3. I don't think it's a cable issue. Before posting, I already tested it by repeatedly plugging and unplugging the cable. I'm hoping others can test it as well to verify my findings. 4. I don't have a direct USB-C to DP cable on hand right now. However, using Nick's kernel 6.6 build and the official Radxa r6 system, this USB-C to HDMI hub works perfectly. It only fails to work on this kernel 6.18 system. 5. @humanus Did you not run into these issues? --- Thanks for your response regarding the A7Z memory issue. I'll look into it further.
  6. @Nick A @alexc I recompiled and tested the v6.18.19 build after you updated the Ethernet settings. Here are my findings: 1. The Ethernet link lights are blinking, but the connection seems unstable. I am unable to ping the device. 2. There is still no display output via the DP interface. (I'm wondering if it's due to the interface type of my USB-C to HDMI adapter, even though it works fine on other versions.) 3. The UART console is spamming logs with what appears to be a large number of errors. Please take a look at the attached logs. log1.mdlog2.mdlog3.md And,,, Do you know how to fix the 6GB RAM issue on the A7Z I mentioned in the post above?
  7. @alexc I've already tried plug in/out the DP port, but it didn't work. Since Nick just updated the config, I'll give it a try with the new one.
  8. @alexc @Nick A With the latest changes from you, incorporated by Nick, the 6.18 kernel. This is the boot log of the serial port: uart_log_20260512.md The blue LED is blinking normally, but there is no display output via the DP port on the dock, and the wired Ethernet isn't working either. I haven't tested the PCIe interface yet as I don't have the adapter module on hand.
  9. @alexc @humanus Here is the UART log get from the image for which I published the SHA256. UART_log.md
  10. @Nick A Hi Nick, I'm using your image (Radxa-cubie-a7z-v0.6.4_trixie_vendor_6.6.98_xfce_desktop.img) on my Radxa Cubie A7Z, which I've DIY-modified to have 6GB of RAM. Micron D9XKK (MT53E1536M32D4DT-046 AAT:A) 6GB LPDDR4 chip. Unfortunately, it fails to boot. Here is the UART output below. Do you know how to fix this? Does the system need specific configuration to recognize the 6GB RAM? ...... [212]HELLO! BOOT0 is starting! 11. @Nick A I compiled the image for version 6.18.19 using the parameters you preset, but the system fails to boot correctly on the A7S. Upon power-up, the green LED stays solid for about 15 seconds. Then, the green LED flashes once, and the blue LED turns solid (unlike the official system where the blue LED blinks). After that, the system becomes unresponsive. There is no signal output on the DP interface, and the Ethernet port indicator light does not turn on even when a cable is connected. Here is the hash value of the compiled file. I'm not sure if there was an issue with my compilation process, as the network connection dropped several times, and it took a few attempts to finally complete the build. 12. @humanus I thought Nick was referring to version 6.6, but I must have misunderstood. Since I knew 6.18 was still in development, I assumed he meant 6.6. Turns out he was actually talking about 6.18.
  13. @Maberikku Great! @humanus Nick said you hit a kernel error on 6.6. Can you paste the details here.
  14. @Nick A I re-tested v0.6.4 on the A7S several times. It turns out that if you unplug and replug the DP cable before the GUI loads, you won't get a signal back. The only fix is to restart the device. Additionally, the restart button on the A7S is not functional with this image.
  15. @humanus Did you build it yourself, or did you just download Nick's version? Also, doesn't the WiFi connection need to be set up first? I downloaded Nick's A7S Mineline v0.1 directly, but I can't connect even with a wired NIC, so I can't get the WiFi working either.
  16. @Nick A Great! and Good job! I've tested both the server and desktop versions of v0.6.4 on the A7S, and the DP output works perfectly on both. I've attached a screenshot for your reference. I’m using a USB‑C to HDMI docking station to test it. When I repeatedly plug and unplug it, the display works fine. The dock also has a keyboard receiver plugged in, which works normally. However, if I then plug a USB flash drive into the dock, the display output stops working (probably due to power supply issues). If I unplug the USB drive and plug it back in, the display works normally again. Additionally, I tested the Mainline v0.1. It seems to have issues on the A7S: the blue LED flashes after boot, but neither the Ethernet nor WiFi connects, and there is no output on the DP port. It appears the system cannot be login (I haven't tested via UART). However, the A7Z handles dual screens fine over HDMI and DP.
  17. @xuyitao Did your build pass? Can the NPU handle Ollama?
  18. Thanks, I compiled one myself too, and it works fine. I actually thought Nick A said A7S support was only added in 6.18. I also built a desktop version for A7S, but the GUI doesn't seem to start or work properly.
  19. @humanus Did you build that yourself? I tried Nick's A7A and A7Z images, but they won't boot on the A7S.
  20. @humanus Which A7S image are you using? Mind sharing it? I'm only getting a Mixed score of 1700+ with my script on the official A7S image.
  21. @Nick A Thanks for taking my advice.😄 This is the test program of mine. You can play around with it if you have time. cpu_benchmark.py.zip
  22. @Nick A As shown in the figure, I tested your newly released patched image on this fanless DIY heatsink dev board using a CPU benchmark tool, and the CPU performance is indeed heavily throttled! With v0.6.1, I scored 2571, with average core temps around 75°C. However, with v0.6.4, the all-core score dropped to just 985, with temps hovering around 60°C. This is even significantly lower than the official system image (1700+). I would really prefer a version without these patches; otherwise, the board's potential is being wasted. After all, sustained operation below 90°C is perfectly safe for this CPU. The official release limits CPU performance to prevent high-temp instability and reduce support tickets, but your image doesn't need to impose these restrictions.
  23. @Nick A Rising CPU temps aren't really a concern. I'm using a massive 6x6cm aluminum heatsink for passive cooling. Even without a fan, it keeps the CPU stable under full load for long periods. The real bottleneck is the frequency throttling, which is really holding back performance.
  24. @Nick A I didn't compile the image myself; I downloaded yours directly. What I meant is that when I running a CPU benchmark program, with all 8 cores fully loaded, the score using your image is about 30% higher than with the official image. However, the CPU temperature is also higher, even though I'm using the exact same cooling setup. By the way, that official heatsink seems to be out of stock now.
