  1. Hi If i boot my cubieboard2, sometimes it's visible on network, and reachable, sometimes not at all. After that, it isn't changes. No problem with the LAN cable, i've tried two. Also the speedtest shows the maximum bandwidths in both directions (~92 mbit/sec). The system boots always, as i see from logs. Here is from the log: sudo cat /var/log/messages | grep ether Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059648] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: PTP uses main clock Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059661] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: no reset control found Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059690] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: no regulator found Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059979] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: Version ID not available Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059991] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: DWMAC1000 Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.059999] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: DMA HW capability register supported Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.060006] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: Normal descriptors Feb 23 09:14:43 localhost kernel: [ 2.060012] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet: Ring mode enabled Feb 23 09:14:44 localhost kernel: [ 10.408311] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet eth0: device MAC address 86:98:a8:6e:1b:69 Feb 23 09:14:44 localhost kernel: [ 10.431624] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet eth0: No Safety Features support found Feb 23 09:14:44 localhost kernel: [ 10.431638] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet eth0: RX IPC Checksum Offload disabled Feb 23 09:14:44 localhost kernel: [ 10.431648] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet eth0: No MAC Management Counters available Feb 23 09:14:44 localhost kernel: [ 10.431657] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet eth0: PTP not supported by HW Feb 23 09:14:45 localhost kernel: [ 11.456229] sun7i-dwmac 1c50000.ethernet eth0: Link is Up - 2. I've never had this problem, until i've updated to 4.19.13 kernel, with the update last sunday. Since that, 10% cpu in average eaten by kworker. ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.19.13-sunxi
  3. Cubieboard2 becomes unreachable on ethernet if the switch to which the CB2 connected to is rebooted/powered off then on. Every other devices communicate after the restart, except CB2, it needs an on/off to make its networking work again. Why? It has fixed IP, and also set fixed mac address, but no luck. It runs the latest armbian (5.38), with mainline kernel
  4. The power supply is the cubieboard2 itselft, with the included 5v+ sata cable.
  5. Hi My cubie2 with a 2.5" HDD has exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x80000 SErr 0x90300 action 0xe frozen [182296.803589] ata1.00: irq_stat 0x08400000, interface fatal error, PHY RDY changed [182296.803605] ata1: SError: { UnrecovData Persist PHYRdyChg 10B8B } [182296.803624] ata1.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED errors sometimes, which causes shutdown, spin up for HDD, with a big click sound, and it's not good for it. So i would try if it happens when the sata link is set to slower. But how can i do that?
  6. Hi Few days ago i've upgraded by armbian to the newest release version 5.17? from 5.11. The problem is, that minidlna DLNA server is only visible for few minutes after the service is started. Later i need a restart the service to make it visible for the new clients. The strange is that when i don't exit/shutdown the client, after the server discovered, it stays visible and works perfectly. But i want to make it visible for a newly started client, i need to restart the service. It doesn't seem to be client problem, as the same happens with my samsung smart tv, and a windows pc with foobar 2000 dlna plugin. What's the problem? (it maybe a broadcasting problem)
  7. Now with the patch which included in armbian 5.10 sunxi_ss seems to work correctly.
  8. Should the update work now with apt-get upgrade? Because for me, apt-get update && apt-get upgrade does not lists available upgradeable packages.
  9. There is a patch for sunxi_ss data corruption: https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/3/23/302 Can be included in 5.1?
  10. Patch (workaround) for the problem: https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/3/23/302
  11. other bug http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/844-how-to-use-cubietruck-crypto-hardware-sunxi-ss/ however it seems it can't be fixed.
  12. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux-sunxi/InsDjSm3J6A probably when the developer gets an answer to this question: https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/3/13/64
  13. did you checked alsamixer for muted outputs? By default all are muted.
  14. If you want to use for disk encryption, then you should wait, as it's broken, and corrupts the files.
  15. I'm using 14.04, and vanilla kernel on A20, followed the documentation for distro upgrade, but it's in endless loop: Calculating the changes Error authenticating some packages It was not possible to authenticate some packages. This may be a transient network problem. You may want to try again later. See below for a list of unauthenticated packages. module-init-tools Restoring original system state After this appears, the whole dist upgrade process restarts, and ends with the same error.
  16. This is interesting: https://www.mail-archive.com/linux-crypto@vger.kernel.org/msg17926.html
  17. Thanks, i've tried, but still the same When the next update comes through apt-get upgrade, will it overwrite this? Or is should restore the "official" next kernel?
  18. I've reported. The developer of sun4i-ss says i should try kernel 4.4.2, so i read the changelog, and there are a lot of fixes for crypto and af_alg indeed. But i don't want to compile kernel. When armbian will be updated to kernel 4.4.2 or better?
  19. Is there a way, to disable the sound power saving feature which switches off the DAC after few seconds of silence? This causing annoying buzz on speakert. In legacy kernel this wasn't happened.
  20. I've tried it with a fresh jessie install, same happens: software deccryption OK, but if i load sun4i_ss decryption goes wrong. Perhaps the problem with sun4i_ss, or just a misconfiguration?
  21. Ok i figured out what is rmmod used for. So if sun4i_ss is loaded, then the backup files are different If that module is removed, then everything is OK (except of much slower transfer rates, and high cpu usage). I wonder if this problem is connected to the slow hashing problem.
  22. After i've upgraded to 5.00, and upgraded the legacy kernel to vanilla (mostly for hardware crypto), i've noticed strange errors: blocky video play from dlna, and from samba too. So i did some test, copied few files on my cubieboard2, and compared the sha hashes of both version, and sometimes the cb2 version is changed, sometimes not. Also i see that a lot of synced files became different on cb2. Is there a way to do some in memory tests to verify how the hw crpyto works? For example random numbers -> hw encrypt -> decrypt -> check if still the same. These test i've made: -as i'm using the encrypted HDD as a backup storage too, i've compared the source files with the backup files, and the most of them was different -created an 1gb file with zeroes on sd card, then copy to the encrypted HDD (connected with sata) -sdiff/diff tells the files are differ after the copy. -copied multiple files on the encypted hdd (from pc to cubie), and did some sha1 checks. The <1GB files were mosly identical, but the >1GB files always had difference. -disconnected the encrypted HDD, and connected to my main pc, and checked these files again, and all were indentical, including the backup files, and all were identical as should be So it seems the hardware encryption works without errors, but the hw decryption is unreliable, some parts of files are decrypted wrongly. The HDD is encrypted with LUKS aes-cbc-plain64 sha1, ext4 fs.
  23. i did sudo adduser cubie audio... and also sudo adduser mpd audio. So all group informations are deleted, or just the audio?
  24. So after this test, i've upgraded my existing system. First from armbian 4.7 to 5.00 then a kernel upgrade from legacy to vanilla. Now i have a strange problem with sound, i can only access the soundcard if i'm in root mode or using sudo. See: cubie@cubieboard2:~$ alsamixer cannot open mixer: No such file or directory cubie@cubieboard2:~$ sudo alsamixer cubie@cubieboard2:~$ aplay -l aplay: device_list:268: no soundcards found... cubie@cubieboard2:~$ sudo aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: sun4icodec [sun4i-codec], device 0: CDC PCM Codec-0 [] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 cubie@cubieboard2:~$
