After an update, X segfaults after a while running 5.73 Seems that its a tv fault. Switching to a different TV cured it. Still with weird screen blanking, using meson-gxbb-p201.dtb from 5.60 is better

5.73 does this as well. 5.60 is ok

Armbian_5.74_Aml-s905_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.20.5_desktop_20190304.img on S11 meson-gxbb-p201.dtb hdmi screen turns black after a few minutes running, box still accesible via ssh. Is there a reason why preload is not installed and activated in our images? All the tweaking guides recommend it.

Ok thanks for the feedback. I think I'll give the rk3328 path a rest now and just use the s912 boxes I have, their performance with 5.72 is very usable.

Any improvement on the responsiveness of the desktop?

Oops my bad, p201 it is then. All good now :-) The box turns off after a few minutes of activity. Perhaps heat or segfault?

Yes I searched the forum for T9 but came up empty. Somehow I stumbled upon the post about SD+USB. That way I've gotten it to boot Armbian_5.72_Rk3328-tv_Ubuntu_bionic_default_4.4.154_desktop_20190123 but no eth0. I'll dig around rk3328-t9-android.dtb & see what I can find

Anyone got the T9 https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_009675791724.html working? The is a rk3328-t9-android.dtb, it doesn't work. The others I've tried couldn't find ROOTFS during boot.

How do you test emmc r/w speed to see whether it is worthwhile to install instead of running on sdcard?

s912 does appear to be the winner. Maybe when we get a desktop in the 5.0 kernel things will improve?
