mecagigi Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Hello, Is OTG running on Orange Pi ONE? I try to run Gadget_Printer what setup am I supposed to validate? I setup OTG support and Gadget Printer during kernel compilation. No USB device is recogonized by host. Am i missing something? Thanks a big lot! Mecagigi.
zador.blood.stained Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 What kernel branch did you try? "default" kernel branch for H3 devices is optimized for Android, so OTG there is "broken" in favor of supporting only ADB, MTP and storage emulation. I read that it's possible to manually patch required gadgets, but I won't spend time debugging this, especially since I don't have the hardware to test it yet.
mecagigi Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 Hi, I recompiled Jessie kernel and create a whole image for Orange pi ONE, swapping android support to printer gadget support. I think Android use OTG port as a HOST and printer_gadget is supposed to use it as a device. Maybe I missed something to indicate OTG as to run as a device. Thanks for the answer :-)
mecagigi Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 OK, all is fine with UDOO running Ubuntu compiled from ARMBIAN. Orange Pi one OTG link is not detected by any host, running Jessie or Ubuntu. Pretty sure either OTG driver is KO or hardware is KO. Results is the same. I will look forward on the web to see if H3 OTG hardware is OK or not, and I will try to fix that. I will keep you informed.
