Guest Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Hello, I think there is a stackoverflow with mpv (sometimes hard to solve...) watching memory with "top" command, I can see memory increase indefinitly. Is it possible to solve this problem ? I use armbian to play web radios.... Best Regards uname -a 3.4.113-sun8i #2 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jan 12 15:54:26 CET 2019 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux mpv -v mpv 0.14.0 (C) 2000-2015 mpv/MPlayer/mplayer2 projects

Guest Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Ok, can I upgrade my current kernel instead of flash it ? (I will spend many weeks to reconfigure if I flash it from the new version.... I try by myself, thank you for your anwser Tido ) Does the problem exists on the new kernel version ?
Guest Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 I have the same problem with the latest kernel (updated an upgraded) Mpv memory starts from about 10% and increases about 0.1% each 15s and system crashes a few hours later. (I don't have the problem on my ubuntu PC) I am sure someone will find the solution :)))) Must I report a bug ? (I install latest kernel, update and upgrade, activate analog input with armbian-config and I play an url with mpv) I tried with moc but :Running the server... Trying JACK... Trying ALSA... Trying OSS... FATAL_ERROR: No valid sound driver! (I try to have a multiroom audio solution)

Guest Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Mpv is a video and an audio player. Can you launch mpv (with a stream url) and watch memory status with top command Tido ?
Guest Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Is it hard to reproduce ? I am the only one who have this problem ?

May be you want to adjust the title of your topic to get more attention like: MPV Stack Overflow - while playing webradio I don't have such a sophisticated installtion to help you testing. Also, have you had a look at the development/issues of MPV, maybe the maintain something on Github or Gitlab?
Guest Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Do Mpv memory increases when playing on a standard install with the latest armbian ? (I think it will be the same on any install) I must know if it is due to audio drivers before doing what you tell me to do. Can you please tell me what you see on your install ? Launch for example the following command line and check : mpv http://stream.radiohamburg.de/rhh-live/mp3-128/radiode/ & (it is not my prefered radio lol) And check with top command if memory increase indefinitly (just launch "top" after)
