Hi all,

got a hummingboard i4-pro installed with armbian debian vanilla.

After

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

system won't come up again. Anybody else?

How to activate hdmi output for debugging? Am I the only one?

Even more:

Got a BlueBeach mini PCI-e SATA 2-ports controller, recognized as:

  01:00.0 SATA controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1062 Serial ATA Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 01 [AHCI 1.0])Subsystem: ASMedia Technology Inc. Device 1060

but my attached harddrive (2,5", separate psu) will not be assigned as /dev/sdX

Any idea where to start to troubleshoot?

Thanks a lot guys

Vanilla kernels does not have HDMI output, only serial console. It's written in bold @download section under bugs and limitations.

Why mPCI does not work is hard to say but one is for sure - only PCI based devices are supported so if this uses mSATA it won't work.

me too. I have Orange Pi One. Yesterday try "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" from desktop version Armbian 5.10.

After I type reboot in console Orange turn off and when I plug adapter it doesnt boot, on board light up only diods in RJ45 connector

today I try new image 5.13, it work, but when it booting there was errors: buffer I/O error and emmc(somethink text) error

buffer I/O error and emmc(somethink text) error

That indicates some troubles with media, possible hardware failure. Please check your SD card for errors - you can do with armbianmonitor

Ok I understand that the half-size mini-PCI-E port is only for pci-based cards.

At the back/bottom the mSATA port is working with my mSATA 32GB SSD.

Now I got another 2-port MiniPCIE card fitting into the bottom mSATA port, which is described as a MiniPCIE card. It's not working too, obviously because the other way round the mSATA port does not understand miniPCIE cards. https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00ORXQY2E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ain't there any mSATA or miniPCIE card with 2-SATA ports that work on hummingboard?

I just wanted to connect 2 SATA hard disks and do mdraid.

And still, Armbian_5.10_Cubox-i_Debian_jessie_4.5.2 will not boot after

apt-get-update && apt-get upgrade

I can't be the only one ?? It's 100% reproducable.

I found out what is happening but don't know where exactly is a problem yet. MMC0 become MMC1 and if you correct boot parameters and fstab it will boot.

In theory this or similar in the top mini PCI slot:

I FINALLY FOUND   :o   :lol:

For all who are looking for a Dual-SATA Mini PCI-E adapter for attaching two harddisks to the Hummingboard i4-pro, THIS adapter is the ONLY one (out of ~8 tested adapters) WHICH WORKS:

I'm german, so I got no english/international amazon link.

Unfortunately the product has no "real name" - even the driver cd nor the manual tells a brand name.

But if the amazon link will die someday, here's the lspci -v output:

01:00.0 SATA controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1062 Serial ATA Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 01 [AHCI 1.0])
