Thanks for this one, I am able to use Palemoon and banish Chrome, it is gone.
I cannot change the blue light to 'sd',

sudo sed -i '1 i #!/bin/sh' /etc/rc.local
sudo sed -i -e 's/exit 0/#exit 0/g' /etc/rc.local
sudo sh -ce "echo 'echo sd >/sys/class/leds/n2:blue\:heartbeat/trigger' >> /etc/rc.local"
sudo sh -ce "echo 'exit 0' >> /etc/rc.local"
sudo chmod +x /etc/rc.local

 just dont work.
                
I would like to have 1024x600 display but MATE control panel / display overrides boot/boot.ini.   Stuck with 1280x960 as the lowest wide screen  display.  1280x800 is a bit off the screen at the button of the screen and a gap at the top.
