Armbian as read-only

Hi

 

 

I've been looking for a live dist for my Orange Pi Plus2, but there really doesn't seem to be one.

I installed Armbian with all software I need to a microsd and figured it must be possible to make the whole system read-only somehow. Would someone care to explain how this can be done?

You might want to look in this. It is old, and I don't know if it is still the way to go.

I know this topic's already marked solved, however wanted to add something interesting that I found in my travels.

 

If for some reason a software software controlled read-only switch isn't sufficient, it is actually possible to make a MicroSD card read-only.

I'll still echo that overlayroot is generally the way to go. But in some applications that may not be sufficient.

 

And the permlock function does work as advertised.
