Michal. Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Sometimes when reboot device goes to emergency mode and you can not connect to it remotelly. I read on internet, may be here, that make this [Firmware Bug]. I downgrade Kernel to "Igor" recommended 5.7.15 and there the [Firmware Bug] missing. I tested new and newest Kernel via armbian-config but the [Firmware Bug] is present everywhere. Kernel 5.7.15 seems good without this bug but i have no sounds on Audio out or via HDMI. --- journalctl -xb [Firmware Bug]: Kernel image misaligned at boot, please fix your bootloader! 0 Quote
MichaIng Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I can verify both with latest 5.10 kernel. It boots fine but shows this kernel image misaligned error and I fail to setup HDMI audio. There is only one sound card 0 shown by aplay -l which seems to be the 3.5mm jack. 0 Quote

The 5.16.0 one I am currently running does not emit it. It's been fixed on mainline for some time, but I don't remember when that was. 0 Quote
MichaIng Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Good to know, and yes I cannot observe any issue related to that warning. If anyone has an idea how to get HDMI audio up, that would be awesome. Probably it can be achieved with one of the ALSA mixer controls, though I didn't went through all of them for all sub devices. All sub devices themselves (card 0 device 0, card 0 device 1, card 0 device 2) have been tested. 0 Quote

I am still on my NanoPC-T4 MicroSD card but it was only necessary to insert appropriate Odroid-N2+ configurations. MichaIng Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Got it working with the help of your linked post. I also found some logic behind this, though not yet 100% understood everything. But I can reliable toggle HDMI and 3.5mm output now: 0 Quote
