Massive Box Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 Hello there, I have a problem. I've just received my new MXQ Pro 4K 5G, which was listed on Aliexpress as having a RK3228A. However, when I received it, I noticed the multitool SD card I had flashed wouldn't boot. I got Cpu-Z and noticed my board has an Amlogic p212 instead of the Rockchip I was promised. What should I do? Is there a way to run Armbian on this bootleg TV box?
SteeMan Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Please read the two FAQ items in the TVBox forum FAQ, one being the amlogic instructions. Your box should have an s905x or s905w CPU. I would start by trying the meson-gxl-s905x-p212.dtb
remlei Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 this kind of TV Boxes have trouble booting with current uboot that armbian is using, it will just stuck at black screen regardless of dtb file you use. mine is running S905x but if you grab the older armbian build for s905x (which still uses the old method of booting from USB or SD card) those ones still boots just fine. You can also make emuelec, which both still uses the older method booting for amlogic soc tv boxes.
