chapas Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Hi, I've flashed the Armbian SPI image following these instructions: https://wiki.radxa.com/Rock5/install/spi I've flashed this image: Armbian_22.11.2_Rock-5b_jammy_legacy_5.10.110_gnome_desktop.img.xz to a M.2 NVME SSD I own a DVB-S2 USB 2.0 device from PCTVSystems: https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Pinnacle_PCTV_DVB-S2_Stick_(461e) currently working in a RPi4 with OSMC. Firmware file (dvb-demod-m88ds3103.fw) is on /lib/firmware When I connect it to Rock5b I can see it with lsusb command Bus 002 Device 003: ID 2013:0258 PCTV Systems DVB-S2 Stick 461e and dmesg usb 2-1: new high-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-platform usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=2013, idProduct=0258, bcdDevice= 1.00 usb 2-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=3, Product=1, SerialNumber=2 usb 2-1: Product: PCTV 461 usb 2-1: Manufacturer: PCTV usb 2-1: SerialNumber: 0011530470 But I fail to see it on /dev (on the RPi4 i can see it as /dev/dvb) Any suggestion? How to diagnose this particular issue? Thanks, chapas 0 Quote
specs Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 If you see the device with lsusb, it is just that (the device is plugged in). Do you see the modules needed to use the device? The third step might making a link from the usb-device to /dev/dvb I would suggest testing lsmod on the RPI with the DVB plugged in. Then a "ls -ali /dev/" with the DVB plugged in (the "-al" should be obvious, the "i", checking the inodes, is especially important for devices). If the plugins are not available, it is probably not going to work with the vendor kernel. If the /dev/dvb is the only part missing it probably can be fixed with some udev rules. 0 Quote
