Kai-Made Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Brand new out of box, the wireless works fine on the orange android os. I then downloaded the orange os aarch64 image and installed. It was the latest. Wireless did not work, but after a couple lines of code/commands it did. I had to add a line to the orangepienv.txt file that was dealing with overlays. After that and a reboot it worked fine. BUT it is seriously boxed in. That is, because of lack of aarch64 support I could not download what I needed...so I tried debian which worked ok, but had issues with processing streaming video over 480p...anything higher I was having screen stutter and ripping plus their was artifacts everywhere. Finally I settled on Armbian, the latest. Said it supported opi 5b. BUT it did not support the wireless. Found 1 article on reddit that said to do a very similar process and add a file to the dtb folder and modify one .txt file. I did, I rebooted but still nothing. Here is that article btw. https://www.reddit.com/r/OrangePI/comments/10z65yt/guide_how_to_get_the_official_orange_pi_5_wifi_m2/ I do not understand why this is even a problem. I also do not understand why the manufacturers have not created individual driver files for this sort of thing. The forum here and on orange pi is absolutely slammed full of people with similar hardware issues. SO, my question. Has anyone gotten the latest distro for armbian to work with opi5b including wifi device ap6275p? I am talking about Armbian 23.5 Jammy Gnome running opi5b plus wireless function via ap6275p. Thanks so very much...and thanks for not having an incredibly terrible forum. I am thoroughly NOT impressed with Orange pi's forum or their utter lack of replying on facebook. 0 Quote
Efe Çetin Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Will work on better 5b support 2 weeks later. Currently i don't have much time. You can follow these instructions until the problem is fixed. https://forum.armbian.com/topic/27959-orange-pi-5b-emmc-not-visible-in-armbian/?do=findComment&comment=164737 1 Quote
