thiago
Hey everyone, I need some assistance with a problem I'm facing. I recently attempted to attach a 5V cooler to my Orange Pi 4 board, but unfortunately, nothing seems to be happening. I even used a multi-meter to measure the voltage, and it consistently shows 0.0V. To ensure I connected everything correctly, I consulted online diagrams and made sure I was using the appropriate pins. Currently, I am powering my Orange Pi 4 using the USB-C connection. Could this be the cause of the issue? Should I change to use the power jack connection? I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions you can provide. Thank you in advance.
NicoD
Should work. What fan is it and what pins did you use? You need to connect the ground to ground and vcc to 5V. So for the OPi4LTS it would be ground in pin3 from top left and vcc pin2 or pin1 from top left. Not sure if it's the same for OPi4 or OPi4B...
thiago
Hi @NicoD, thanks for your reply. I have a 5V fan, and I've connected it to the 5V and GND pins. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be happening. On multi-meter it's always 0.00v, I also tested where it should be the 3.3v pins on the other side and nothing, no power.
thiago
I think my pins are broken! I was able to find a workaround to power an external fan by connecting it to the USB port.
