tolik4 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 (edited) Recently I've installed armbian on my 905 TV box using this article as a guide: https://i12bretro.github.io/tutorials/0269.html After some experiments with dtb files and tuning everything seems to work fine except of one thing: the box can't be turned off, it boots immediately after shutting down. I've found a similar problem described in several articles, for example: https://gist.github.com/george-hawkins/a897a6fe116093a4c1f29ad19df088de It is suggested to enable XHCI HCD quirks in grub. But there is not such file in the system I've installed, the closest thing I found was config-5.9.0-arm-64 file. What is the right way to modify it to add XHCI HCD quirks? Or maybe the suggested method doesn't suite for my system? Sorry if my question is dumb, I'm a total noob with Linux. Edited November 5, 2023 by tolik4 0 Quote
SteeMan Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Instead of using random old builds and directions you have found, please try with:: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17106-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus Per the above information, don't expect most things to work. Also grub is a boot system primarily used on x86 boxes. Arm based boxes use uboot. 0 Quote
tolik4 Posted November 5, 2023 Author Posted November 5, 2023 Thanks for your reply. I've just tried installing the last build available here: https://mirrors.netix.net/armbian/dl/aml-s9xx-box/archive/ (Armbian_23.8.1_Aml-s9xx-box_bookworm_current_6.1.50) But the same problem appears again: I'm using poweroff or shutdown -h now commands but the tv box starts again immediately. 0 Quote
SteeMan Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 As I said per the faq, Many features don't work on tv boxes. This behavior is common. 0 Quote
