Antwan
Hello, Im using a Orange Pi Zero, running nginx with Nextcloud. Im noticing 99.99% usage on the IO reported by iotop, but disk read and disk write show 0%. Even a refresh on the homepage bumps it up to the top of the IO list. As far as I am informed... isn't kswapd0 supposed to deal with swap memory and go wild when I am about to run out of RAM? I have disabled (hopefully), my swap partition, but I am still getting this. I have commented out the swap line in fstab... htop reports 0KB SWAP. It doesn't seem that I am running out of memory. About 50% of it appears to be free all the time. I am really new to dev boards and such, but this didn't appear on my raspberry pi zero, running pretty much the same setup on Raspbian. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? It stays like this for most of the time: 38 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 95.43 % [kswapd0] 1634 be/4 www-data 0.00 B/s 640.50 K/s 0.00 % 0.00 % nginx: worker process 1 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % init 2 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kthreadd] 3 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/0] 5 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kworker/u:0] 6 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [migration/0] 7 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [watchdog/0] 8 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [migration/1] 1545 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % NetworkManager --no-daemon 10 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/1] 11 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [watchdog/1] 12 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [migration/2] 14 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/2] 15 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [watchdog/2] 16 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [migration/3] 18 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/3] 19 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [watchdog/3] 20 be/0 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [cpuset] 21 be/0 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [khelper] And it pops and switches to something like this from time to time: 408 be/4 www-data 6.82 K/s 88.63 K/s 0.00 % 65.34 % php-fpm: pool www 452 be/3 root 0.00 B/s 13.64 K/s 0.00 % 46.93 % [jbd2/mmcblk0p1-] 38 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 13.55 % [kswapd0] 1025 be/4 root 109.09 K/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 13.35 % wpa_supplicant -s -B -P /run/wpa_supplicant.wlan0.pid -i wlan0 -D nl80211,wext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf 1782 be/4 ntp 221.58 K/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 2.42 % ntpd -p /var/run/ntpd.pid -g -u 105:110 3248 be/4 www-data 146.58 K/s 1711.28 K/s 0.00 % 1.81 % php-fpm: pool www 1632 be/4 www-data 0.00 B/s 395.43 K/s 0.00 % 0.00 % nginx: worker process 1 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % init 2 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kthreadd] 3 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/0] 5 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kworker/u:0] Here is what it looks like running "apt-get update": 38 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 79.24 % [kswapd0] 7901 be/4 root 134.70 K/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 1.14 % -bash 1515 be/4 root 95.71 K/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.54 % haveged --Foreground --verbose=1 --write=1024 1590 be/4 root 3.54 K/s 3.54 K/s 0.00 % 0.18 % rsyslogd -n [rs:main Q:Reg] 1 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % init 2 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kthreadd] 3 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [ksoftirqd/0] 5 be/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [kworker/u:0] 6 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [migration/0] 7 rt/4 root 0.00 B/s 0.00 B/s 0.00 % 0.00 % [watchdog/0] total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 241 133 107 17 2 32 -/+ buffers/cache: 99 142 Swap: 0 0 0 Sorry if this is a stupid question.
