Buttercup Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) Thanks so much, SteeMan. You are my hero! Messing around with Armbian on TVBox is really fun. I saw you and other people discussed about installing Armbian to the onboard eMMC. Is there any advantage for doing that? I mean I have a Samsung EVO 128Gb lying around, which should be faster, roomier than the onboard eMMC, shouldn't I use it instead of the 16Gb onboard eMMC? SteeMan Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Here are the reasons to run off of emmc: emmc is faster than SD emmc is more durable than SD. Both emmc and SD have limited lifes due to the number of write cycles they support. But emmc should last longer than SD before wearing out Reasons to stay with SD: The ability to pop out the SD card and replace it with another or to move it to another device to read/write the contents is sometimes very useful SD cards can give you more storage than the onboard emmc 0 Quote
