peter12 Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Hello, I know this is not very Armbian related but no idea where to ask and maybe someone is able to help (because of lack of documentation). I would like to connect this microphone to OPi Zero gpio. It has:1 5V2 GND3 USB-DM24 USB-DP25 USB-DM36 USB-DP37 LINEOUTR8 LINEOUTL9 TV-OUT10 MIC-BIAS11 MIC1P12 MIC1N13 CIR-RX I would like to connect this microphone (picture) to gpio, if I understand it correctly, I need to use MIC-BIAS, MIC1P, MIC1N. But this microphone has just two pins. How should I connect it to gpio please? And what should I activate in Armbian to be able to record from this microphone? (probably alsa, set device, which software to use for recording)
martinayotte Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Take a look at schematic of some other OrangePis that has built-in microphone, for example OrangePiPlus2E, you will see how that Bias is providing current thru a resistor to one of the 2 microphone pins while another resistor is pulling down the other pin to GND. There are also filtering capacitors and coupling capacitors too.
