You find several reports on the forums that slow random IO also slows down Transmission & Co. Check here how to test storage appropriate: https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/topic/954-sd-card-performance/ (it's the 'iozone -i 2' that matters for this purpose)
NaTa5 Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 hi for some reason iozone -a -i 2 gives me "Error reading block at 12288 read: Success" on emmc and hdd ( i guess i only need to cd in HDD mnt folder to test the hdd) not only on torrents , but also wget and moving files with samba On windows it works as it should (about same speeds i get with benchmark in the board wich is great) its formated in ntfs if it helps i didnt test another hdd (im really tired will do it tomorrow) thanks
NaTa5 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 sorry for reviving an old topic but i was using my board today and this came again here you go: random random bkwd record stride kB reclen write rewrite read reread read write 102400 4 12199 17088 40798 41032 40541 10683 102400 16 21669 23089 92387 94860 94005 18962 102400 512 25264 25921 142619 143845 143363 24620 102400 1024 26230 26224 139327 143550 140371 24829 102400 16384 24661 25128 135440 143033 144060 26802 dd if=/dev/zero of=./largefile bs=1M count=1024 1024+0 records in 1024+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 62.0049 s, 17.3 MB/s Testing download speed................................................................................ Download: 206.82 Mbit/s Testing upload speed................................................................................................ Upload: 181.92 Mbit/s So why i cant go over 10mb/s download speed? What is the bottleneck? Can a proper UASP 3.0 external HDD case get me better results or solve this? Anyone with this board can tell me what speeds is getting? thanks
Piv Klit Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Because you lan is running 100Mbps ? = 10MB/s (actually 12.5MB/s) So I think you are confusing bits and bytes. 1 Mbps = 0.125 MB/s USB3 wont get you anywhere since the board only supports USB2.
