freak Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 I connected a tinker to a 4k tv and the highest resolution that armbian offers is 1920x1080. What could be the reason that 4k res is not offered? I'm using ARMBIAN 5.43.180417 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS 4.14.34-rockchip.
TonyMac32 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 There is not yet 4k in mainline, to my knowledge. For 4k you need to use the Rockchip kernel.Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
freak Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 I thought 4.14.34-rockchip meant I was using the rockchip kernel

TonyMac32 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 My apologies, I meant the Vendor kernel when I said "Rockchip", so in this case Kernel 4.4. "Rockchip-default"Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
freak Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 How do I go about getting the proper kernel?
freak Posted April 18, 2018 Author Posted April 18, 2018 Nevermind I got it. Yeah that makes 4k work.

freak Posted April 19, 2018 Author Posted April 19, 2018 armbian-config -> system and security settings -> switch to alternative kernels 1
