WarHawk_AVG Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Do any of you ever conformal coat your SBC's with clear nail polish or polyurethane to protect it from moisture to prevent corrosion? I usually coat the boards in my solar lights and they last MUCH longer...usually they die within a few months..the wires or components rusting thru. or silicon coating... like this https://www.amazon.com/MG-Chemicals-Silicone-Modified-Conformal/dp/B07BSK5S7B or acrylic coating...like this https://www.amazon.com/MG-Chemicals-Acrylic-Lacquer-Conformal/dp/B01HPS13SM I have found the nail polish seems to work well...others find it flakes off
TonyMac32 Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I use nail polish for joints/etc, and if I want to keep things from electrically touching. I'm going to guess the flaking depends on the type of nail polish, you have to get the good toxic kind for it to work well
