enjoyneering Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Hi, I have ARMBIAN 5.60 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.78-sunx and installed IR support via armbian-config. Followed LIRC setup procedure for old Linux8 (jessie) and nothing works sudo evtest command doesn't show any available devices sudo service lirc start returns Failed to start lirc.service: Unit lirc.service not found. Any advise?
MacBreaker Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Try, sudo service lircd start That should work...
enjoyneering Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 Thank you. Started lircd no problem. But... sudo evtest command doesn't show any available devices sudo irw /dev/lircd returns "Cannot connect to socket /dev/lircd: No such file or directory"
MacBreaker Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Strange, run evtest as root, this works... With sudo irw /dev/lircd i get the same result sa you.
enjoyneering Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 found. installed cir support via armbian-config. System -> Hardware -> cir p.s. Stretch lirc 0.9.4 is included in the Debian package. The configuration is slightly different. The hardware.conf file is not supported, obsoleted by a new lirc_options.conf file and systemd unit definitions.
