@RetroFan90 no, you must convert to dtb again and apply some headers if you use the parameters.txt method to flash images on linux first install device tree compiler to go from dts to dtb again then follow this important github of mr. Justin to obtain again something that the legacy kernel can manage . You need some headers . If you are on legacy use directly the dtb obtained from device tree compiler Which is your case ? Burning with parameters.txt or using the mainline kernel ??? https://github.com/jhswartz/rk3229/blob/master/PARTITION-REPLACEMENT.md p.s. but are the images you are trying to mod ANDROID or are you playing on Armbian now ? -

@RetroFan90 They are all HK1, the circle one , many but really many have exploded regulators on ddr V+ since the ddr are poorly soldered and/or defective and they have short circuits on the bga balls Here for you a dts from one of the firmware you send (1.4.1_atv_rk_10.img) The tool for extracting dtb's is called RK3xxx_firmware_tools_5.23.1_by_SergioPoverony.zip 3318dts.zip -

@RetroFan90 I do agree totally with @jock : overclock 3318 is a terrible idea. We suspect that 3318 is the " poor brother " of 3328 , or in other words , 3318 is a badly assembled/builded 3328 that has some electric electronic characteristic that made impossible to call it 3328 so was downgraded to 3318 I have more than 30 defective 3318 with broken emmc, ddr that go higher than 100 celsius and I wouldn't even try to overclock the few 3318 that are working -

@Charles Bauer I guess the second option but I am just AFRAID to buy one that HASN'T eMCP. So shipping exactly THIS ONE " bricked" actually in your hands is the best solution to finally manage to study those damned eMCP. I'm afraid shipping to Italy will be around 30/40 USD This is the reason why UNTIL now I didn't invest money in buying one: not because of 20/30 or even 40 euros, but because I must be sure receiving the right one. I have plenty of emmc and nands rk322x boxes , imagine I buy another one sure it is eMCP and arrives ANOTHER emmc or nand Will write you in private but bit later !
-
@Charles Bauer if I have understood well you are in Brasil ( correct me if I'm wrong ) so shipping to Italy will be the worst part of the whole story !!!! If you any way agree to deal with spedition let me know Where did you buy this box and how much it costs ? On wich platform ( amazon, bangood, aliexpress etc etc ) ????
-
definetly NOT A BAD IDEA !!!!
-
@Charles Bauer Yes Charles, by nicknames would be nice, even if many many other in some way contributed to this development, I think to @knaerzche, to @hexdump , to justin swartz, to willerson and in general to all the person mentioned in the first post and that crossed and mixted their experiences with ours. A formula like "credits to jock, knaerzche, fabiobassa, hexdump and all the guys from armbian" .... and a link to the first post of this 3ad could be a nice idea , but this is my personal way of writing, of course you will adapt to your personal feelings and sensibility. Good luck for your project
-
Perfect @Charles Bauer nice work and again I hope your project can fly high . May be could be a nice thing give credits in your document to @jockthat personally wrote the multitool , to myself and to armbian project in general, since without this base the whole goal wouldn't have been possible Go on with this effort to bring low cost tecnology to kids of your country !!!
-
@Charles Bauer Charles the problem is really a sum of problems... lack of right mali drivers isn't exactly true since we have the right drivers... poor integration into Xorg server experiences is more true What I mean ? You can have a very satisfactory video experience ( kodi with gbm video drivers) but no desktop.....or......a good xserver desktop daily use and a poor video experience . But the desktop experience could be good for programming or server use. All depends what use you really need for the box. Many tabs on chromium ( chrome) with video inside are not possible. But I repeat this project is very admirable and with some tuning you can have satisfactory experience
-
@Charles Bauer your project is awewsome and it deserves the greates support and my personal ammiration. I am not a programmer, I'm more on the hardware side, but hope you can achieve your goal Compliments !!!
-
@ArkhanLK ad Jock already said is not a problem of the soc per se , but netflix and other need DRM and this must be enabled in some way as libreelec already did. I am very but very happy that you found this little black box usefull, I use plenty of those for the most wide purposes
-
@Luiz Rocha if you speak about android rom this isn 't the right place since here we discuss about linux-armbian on those board If you instead speak of linux-armbian you are in the right place but apart from photos you didn't describe what the problem is ( no boot ? - have you a uart , have you logs ?)

@kruzer please don't, let's use it every day and not just for the 4th wave The 322x is the black duckling of the serie , but as per the novel, it unvealed to be a nice swan too. Of course with its limited resources but for headless programs ( vpn, dns pihole, asterisk voip, ssh, samba, etc etc etc ) is really satisfacting. But 3318 I must admit is another level ......About laggy things, yet, I really hope and think that experiences will be every day better. Until just 6/7 moths ago this 3318 was not more than the nth black-box sold around, now is a 85% ready desktop substitute And a big thank you too, also, because " testing and proposing" , trials and errors, is the best way to achieve results !!! -

@Generic_user nothing to say, I love those producers every day more Not easy to say where is the uart, at least without an oscilloscope !! Join the other conversation may be someone else have your same board
