  3. Hello, I'm new to the Pi computers and all that, and I'm planning on doing a project, so I was wondering if the Opi One H3 would support packet injection and monitor mode on Armbian with the onboard wifi? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello everyone. I'm new to Armbian. If I do not restart or turn off by command (correctly) all the files generated or transferred since it was turned on are deleted immediately. Why? Is it normal in Armbian? I use Orange Pi Win Plus 2, how do I deactivate that functionality? I use it as a remote server.
  5. Hi! Periodically, time in two-three days, sharply increases CPU utilization, the system becomes disfunctional. SD card and power supply maybe not the best, but they working fine in other systems and I'm tried others. SSH hangs on login while this problem is actual, but i have a serial connection, so can investigate in real time. 6. Hellow, I would like to report an issue with Orange Pi PC+ I tried to run the board with a manually built image (with kernel version 'next' and 5.71). While in the past I was able to create Wifi hotspots without any issues, with a new image I encountered weird issues where the hotspot was listed from Wifi clients, but trying to connect triggered some scarry traceback such as this one : Having no idea what I was doing, after trying a few other things, I tried downgrading the kernel to 5.70 (using apt.armbian.org) - this did not solve the issue - and then to 5.67 for which it was working as expected ! I don't know if this is something that can be solved upstream somehow ... Naively it sounds related to the 8189fs module (driver for the Wifi chip ?) but not really sure as I don't understand so much all the driver and kernel stuffs
  7. I just got a Nanopi NEO2 512MB, installed Armbian Ubuntu Bionic. It works fine, except for the DVB-T/C stick. It is affected by Kernel 4.10+ problems. I wonder if I can downgrade to an older kernel, like 4.4.0 for example, where everything works perfectly? If yes, how? There is a patch that perhaps would resolve the problem, how could I apply this patch to an of the available releases of Armbian? This patch Please, help me with this. Many thanks!
  8. Today I did build the image for stretch (for M2 Ultra) - but it was a bit strange - because it ended up in a 1.1GB .image file, but the compressed size was only 1.5MB OK, before building the image I got only 6GB free on my virtual HDD - by the last images this did work.... Now I will reinstall my build-system with the double size (60GB against 30GB before) and then I will firstly try to create a xenial image (not stretch which give me the compressed 1.50MB image whcih doesnt boot )
  9. Hello Everyone, I would like to share my experience about how to boot Orange Pi almost silently in console mode (eliminate a lot of kernel messages on startup) without desktop and remove cursor blinking that can cause black rectangle appearing over white background, when painting to framebuffer. Many options that proposed as being able to reduce kernel messages on boot didn't work for me. So based on Armbian documentation I started to experience with armbianEnv.txt file in the /boot folder. The extraargs setting was not part of the default armbianEnv.txt file, but appeared in BOOT.CMD file. The setting extraargs=vt.global_cursor_default=0 quiet solved both above problems. Hope this will be helpful for somebody else.
  10. Hello all, I am iterating the build process, debugging some user build scripts and it would be nice to be able to avoid recompiling the kernel and generating its debs every time, in order to be able to iterate faster and make faster progress. I didn't see a way of doing this in the documentation. Any suggestions? Thanks
  11. Armbian provides its own hostapd. Why? This is relevant because of the recent WPA2 bug. Upstream hostapd has been patched: https://packages.debian.org/jessie/hostapd I don't understand the precise relation between Debian and Armbian. Will this patch percolate down? Thanks
  12. For anyone stumbling accross CVE-2017-6074 and thinking about whether Armbian installations are affected or not: we're most probably not since CONFIG_IP_DCCP is enabled as module only on some kernels: root@armbian:/var/git/Armbian/lib/config/kernel # grep 'CONFIG_IP_DCCP=' * linux-cubox-default.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m linux-cubox-dev.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m linux-mvebu-default.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m linux-mvebu-next.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m linux-sun8i-dev.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m linux-sunxi-dev.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m linux-sunxi-next.config:CONFIG_IP_DCCP=m root@armbian:/var/git/Armbian/lib/config/kernel # Details about this local root exploit: http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2017/q1/471
  13. First of all forgive my English, I do not speak the language and certainly make mistakes. use google translator to write;-) I have the Orange Pi + 2e and I installed "Debian Jessie," but I can not run the wifi that is integrated, I am new to linux, so everything costs me more. According to the specifications https://linux-sunxi.org/Orange_Pi_Plus_2E the wifi chip is Realtek RTL8189FTV Would appreciate some help, thank you very much.
  14. I know is a hard-work, maybe due to the "avalanche" of new boards. But I find a little mess in the filter to select boards in the Donwload page based on the availability of OS images. For example Orange Pi One http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-one/ doesn't have Mainline OS but it's appear in the filtered list. Thanks in advance.

  19. Hi, maybe this is a dumb question, but here goes. How does including a signed .asc file in the 7zip archive verify the integrity of the whole archive? I mean, couldn't a bad guy just copy the .asc file into a new archive?
  20. Hello, for a piece of advice, I have compiled kernel 4.6.1 for Lamobo-R1, USB is KO, I am switching back to 4.5.5 in the meantime.
  21. Hallo, with EXTENDED_DEBOOTSTRAP="yes" and ROOTFS_TYPE="nfs"my bananapim2 (jessie, next) has its / on /dev/nfs. After a few minutes it hangs with the error message: nfs: server x.x.x.x not responding, still trying To extend the timeout period I add timeo=30 (3 seconds) to nfs-boot.cmd. The result is: ubuntu:~# grep timeo userpatches/nfs-boot.cmd setenv bootargs "console=tty1 console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/nfs ${net_setup} rw rootflags=noatime,nodiratime,timeo=30 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=6" # Banana Pi M2 root@m2-bare:~# journalctl --no-pager | grep nfs Jun 10 23:17:01 m2-bare kernel: Kernel command line: console=tty1 console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/nfs ip=dhcp rw rootflags=noatime,nodiratime,timeo=30 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=6 Jun 10 23:17:01 m2-bare kernel: nfs4filelayout_init: NFSv4 File Layout Driver Registering... root@m2-bare:~# mount | grep nfs x.x.x.x:/srv/nfs/root on / type nfs (rw,relatime,vers=3,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,namlen=255,hard,nolock,proto=tcp,port=2049,timeo=7,retrans=10,sec=sys,local_lock=all,addr=x.x.x.x) Unfortunately / is mounted with timeo=7. Adding the timeo option to /etc/fstab brings no success, too. The mount command still shows timeo=7. I guessed /etc/fstab is ignored totally. But that is wrong. Changing the first column "/dev/nfs" to something like "x.x.x.x:/srv/nfs/testroot" will be recognized. How could / be mounted with additional options like a greater timeout period?
