  1. Hallo, with EXTENDED_DEBOOTSTRAP="yes" and ROOTFS_TYPE="nfs"my bananapim2 (jessie, next) has its / on /dev/nfs. After a few minutes it hangs with the error message: nfs: server x.x.x.x not responding, still trying To extend the timeout period I add timeo=30 (3 seconds) to nfs-boot.cmd. The result is: ubuntu:~# grep timeo userpatches/nfs-boot.cmd setenv bootargs "console=tty1 console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/nfs ${net_setup} rw rootflags=noatime,nodiratime,timeo=30 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=6" # Banana Pi M2 root@m2-bare:~# journalctl --no-pager | grep nfs Jun 10 23:17:01 m2-bare kernel: Kernel command line: console=tty1 console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/nfs ip=dhcp rw rootflags=noatime,nodiratime,timeo=30 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=6 Jun 10 23:17:01 m2-bare kernel: nfs4filelayout_init: NFSv4 File Layout Driver Registering... root@m2-bare:~# mount | grep nfs x.x.x.x:/srv/nfs/root on / type nfs (rw,relatime,vers=3,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,namlen=255,hard,nolock,proto=tcp,port=2049,timeo=7,retrans=10,sec=sys,local_lock=all,addr=x.x.x.x) Unfortunately / is mounted with timeo=7. Adding the timeo option to /etc/fstab brings no success, too. The mount command still shows timeo=7. I guessed /etc/fstab is ignored totally. But that is wrong. Changing the first column "/dev/nfs" to something like "x.x.x.x:/srv/nfs/testroot" will be recognized. How could / be mounted with additional options like a greater timeout period?

  5. Hello, I want to buy this display https://www.adafruit.com/products/2354 will seamlessly work with ubuntu on bananapi m1?
  6. I copied the system from http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pcto a 8GB SD and installed it in OrangePi PC, which works OK withe some other distros. - No connection with SSH - No visual (The card HDMI might be broken. No visual with Raspbian either) - The LED lights up abt. 10sec after power-on on the board as well as the LEDs by RJ45 connector Tested with bot Jessie and Trusty. I inserted the Trusty card to my Linux Mint 17.3 laptop and edited /etc/network/interface.default. There is only local, no eth0. I wrote static address mantra there and tested, but no go. Fdisk told there is only one partition on the card starting from 2048. - Checked with ping and "nmap --ttl 1 -sP 192.168.0.0/24" in my laptop, but no OrangePi board in my home LAN, only my servers, printers etc Got to try with dynamic IP. Too tired to continue now. Next try abt. 18h from now.
  7. Hello everyone, Please beg my pardon if the question might seem “stupid†but I searched quite a bit without finding a solution. I’m using the ARMBIAN version of Debian Jessie on my Banana Pro with a great dose of satisfaction and I have noticed that the message about “system status†which appears on the first SSH Login Screen after each reboot provides a very useful insight into my system. From my researches I think I have understood that this is called “MOTD†(message of the day) and it is supposed to appear only once per session. I would like to display this message every time I open a new SSH Connection windows to my device, so to always have that information in each “Terminal Window†and not only to show them once at every reboot. Would this be possible? And if so, how exactly? Thank you for your time and your patience.
  8. hi, I plan to turn my cubietruck IR gateway, and home theater controller. The first thing to do is to be able to decode any remote control can be used with lircmd. But when I use irrecord IRW returns do anything with some remote and works with the other. While in leaving the base configuration (infrared keyboard) there is always something to send. The sunxi ir-limited driver there are thee? The second point is to emit infrared to control my devices and there is little information that is partt LIRC_GPIO seems you abandoned. I watch the IR driver in the mainline kernel and I find that it is very different. I wonder if it would not be helpful to bnackport in legacy kernel and have a more rigorous fonctionment. That the sunxi driver.
  9. Hi, I'm using armbian on my Cubieboard running from nand. I'm just curious how do you implement wear-leveling in this armbian on nand implementation on ext4? Thanks in advance. :)
  10. Hello, I have installed Armbian on my Banana M1+ and I have noticed „something“ strange in network communication. Thank you, Regards, Petr Sourek

  13. Hi everyone, after getting Igor's image for Jessie with kernel 3.4.109 on January 10th, I did an upgrade and now I get: uname -a Linux cubieVDR 3.4.110-sun7i #10 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 28 11:48:43 CET 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux However, unfortunately I also get modprobe bcmdhd modprobe: FATAL: Module bcmdhd not found. According to http://www.armbian.com/documentation/, it does not say anything about having to do something special to obtain the module in the section called "How to set wireless access point?". Also, on another machine running kernel 3.4.108, everything is working fine (see my post in this forum). What do I need to do to get the AP working? Cheers, chessplayer

  16. I actually did a search on the forum for these and found nothing, so now I'm asking for the help. Of coarse it could be I didn't know what I was looking at or understood it. I'm running a Cubie 2 with the desktop Armdian 1. Unable to copy and paste from or to termal 2. unable to add user (I did install lightdm) or go to a login screen 3. Unable to get the audio to go to the HDMI port so it will play thru the TV/Monitor 4 No package manager, is it possible to install one? I tried an apt-get install synaptic and got no where. 5. Unable to install ElectricSheep or the Xscreensaver (got partway in installing xsreensaver) Thanks Dave C

Hello Igor, greatings everyone, I have realized the "build" link is missing to the /usr/src/linux-headers-x.x.x-sunxi Ubuntu Trusty (x86/amd64 kernel) provides such a link I was building a small kernel module from source (frandom-dkms) on my labomo-r1 gr@bpi:/lib/modules/4.2.3-sunxi$ ll total 1260 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Oct 13 18:34 ./ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 13 15:20 ../ lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 Oct 13 14:23 build -> /usr/src/linux-headers-4.2.3-sunxi/ drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4096 Oct 13 15:20 kernel/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 360156 Oct 13 18:34 modules.alias -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 367304 Oct 13 18:34 modules.alias.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 14935 Oct 11 14:12 modules.builtin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 17813 Oct 13 18:34 modules.builtin.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 82602 Oct 13 18:34 modules.dep -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 128280 Oct 13 18:34 modules.dep.bin -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 128 Oct 13 18:34 modules.devname -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 40034 Oct 11 14:12 modules.order -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 131 Oct 13 18:34 modules.softdep -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 103401 Oct 13 18:34 modules.symbols -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 131685 Oct 13 18:34 modules.symbols.bin drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 13 18:34 updates/ without the link: gr@bpi:~/frandom/frandom-master$ ls CHANGELOG debian description-pak etc frandom.c INSTALL Makefile README usr gr@bpi:~/frandom/frandom-master$ make make -C /lib/modules/4.2.3-sunxi/build SUBDIRS=/home/gr/frandom/frandom-master modules make: *** /lib/modules/4.2.3-sunxi/build: No such file or directory.   21. Hello. I try enable 1wire on Cibieboard 2. Could anyone describe to me how to do it? Where is kernel source on debian jesssie on Armbian for CB2
  22. Aside from the DNS resolution issue I am having (different thread), I am often getting stuck on the following: Unpacking locales (from .../locales_2.13-38+deb7u8_all.deb) ... Processing triggers for man-db ... Setting up locales (2.13-38+deb7u8) ... Generating locales (this might take a while)... Generation complete. Generating locales (this might take a while)... en_US.UTF-8... done Generation complete. It just sits there and nothing further happens. I have left it for 30 minutes or more, and still nothing. I usually end up killing it... rebooting and then restarting. When it does get past this, I typically end up with the debian sources DNS resolution issue which I documented on a different thread. Any idea what is causing it to get stuck here? I am wondering if this is somehow related to the DNS resolution issue I am having as well. These problems only started occurring over the last couple days... I never had an issue with image generation before that. I did update to the latest libs a while ago, so I am not sure if something changed that is now contributing to this. Thanks.
  23. Hello Igor, I am using vanilla 4.4 for labomo-r1 it seems zram module is missing. Do you intend to compile the kernel with this option, please? gr@bpi:~$ sudo modprobe -Rf zram modprobe: FATAL: Module zram not found. On raspbian, kernel 3.18.x-4.1.x, there is a kernel module "zram" useful for embedded systems... working fine (also using on my x86 laptop) https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Zram Nice week-end, Regards, Guillaume
