  2. Hi, my Banana Pi M2+ with Armbian Bionic doesn't see my access point on channel 13. I already set "REGDOMAIN=DE" in /etc/default/crda and also issued the command "iw reg set DE". "nmcli dev wifi list" shows a lot of other access points on channels 1, 6, 11, but not my own on channel 13. On the other hand, "iw list" shows: Frequencies: * 2412 MHz [1] (20.0 dBm) * 2417 MHz [2] (20.0 dBm) * 2422 MHz [3] (20.0 dBm) * 2427 MHz [4] (20.0 dBm) * 2432 MHz [5] (20.0 dBm) * 2437 MHz [6] (20.0 dBm) * 2442 MHz [7] (20.0 dBm) * 2447 MHz [8] (20.0 dBm) * 2452 MHz [9] (20.0 dBm) * 2457 MHz [10] (20.0 dBm) * 2462 MHz [11] (20.0 dBm) * 2467 MHz [12] (20.0 dBm) * 2472 MHz [13] (20.0 dBm) * 2484 MHz [14] (disabled) So the problem might be the Broadcom chip firmware. I found some replacement files here: http://jwrdegoede.danny.cz/brcm-firmware/ Some of them get loaded: root@bananapim2plus:~# dmesg | grep brcmfmac [ 5.166843] brcmfmac: brcmf_fw_map_chip_to_name: using brcm/brcmfmac43430-sdio.bin for chip 0x00a9a6(43430) rev 0x000001 [ 5.316277] brcmfmac: brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds: Firmware version = wl0: Oct 23 2017 03:55:53 version 7.45.98.38 (r674442 CY) FWID 01-e58d219f But no success. 4. while creating an ISO on SD: Etcher says :: it looks like this is not a bootable image; the image does not appear to contain a partition table and mitht not be recognized or bootable by your device well - this makes me wonder. btw: first time i write to sd-cards. in earlier times i had to write images to DVD it looks like this is not a bootable image; the image does not appear to contain a partition table and mitht not be recognized or bootable by your device Exactly which file did you try to write? Was it one of the standard Raspbian downloads from https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/? see the ressources i have chosen see - (bananian based things ) http://wiki.banana-pi.org/Banana_Pi_BPI ... ge_Release https://www.armbian.com/banana-pi-m2-plus/ any ideas
  5. Hello, I have a question about HDMI CEC in Armbian Stretch, is it possible to run this? After command lsmod I have module hdmi_hw_cec, I install libcec and cec-utils packages but cec-client still show "not devices". I read in sunxi wiki http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort#Status_Matrix that HDMI CEC should be active in revision 4.17, so when we can expect this version? :)
  6. Hello everyone, This is my first post to this forum. I am installing a software package on Armbian 5.60 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.70-sunxi for the Banana Pi M2+ and I have problem with the uname command in that when I pass the -i option it reports back unknown. Now I am unsure what function the software calls to determine the platform architecture so I cannot script around it, but this issue is preventing me from moving forward now. When I check some of the binaries with file command it reports back ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, ARM, EABI5. Anyway this causes the software I am installing to fail, any suggestions as to how to fix this? Thanks in advance, Rick
  7. Hi, At the beginning I would like to emphasize that I am not an expert in linux :) I use bananapi m2 + v1.1 in my project. Until now everything worked well with the SD card on armbian 5.25. My project is now finished and would like to run the system from emmc. I used armbian-config to move system from SD card to emmc. I chose the only option: Boot from eMMc – system on eMMC. Everything went well except the message (while formatting): EXT4-fs (mmcblk1p1): Unrecognized mount option "compress-force=zlib" or missing value mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mmcblk1p1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so. After removing the SD card, system does not start, it always stops at the same point. I connected the serial debug and here's what I received: U-Boot SPL 2017.11-armbian (Jan 24 2018 - 22:08:56) DRAM: 1024 MiB Trying to boot from MMC2 U-Boot 2017.11-armbian (Jan 24 2018 - 22:08:56 +0100) Allwinner Technology CPU: Allwinner H3 (SUN8I 1680) Model: Banana Pi BPI-M2-Plus DRAM: 1 GiB MMC: SUNXI SD/MMC: 0, SUNXI SD/MMC: 1 *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment In: serial Out: serial Err: serial Net: No ethernet found. starting USB... I can mount / dev / mmcblk1p1 and it looks like the directory structure has been copied correctly. I have two BananaPi’s boards and both behave the same way. So it's probably not a hardware issue. I searched the forum and did not find a solution to this problem. Anyway, has someone any Ideas to get the EMMc working?
  8. Hi, I am new to the Armbian. I have build the kernel for BananaPi M2+ using the instruction specified in Armbian document for Building with Vagrant. I could see the output file "linux-image-sun8i-5.59.armhf.deb" in the "output/debs" folder. Know I don't know how to download or install this file on the SD card which is running on my bananaPi M2+. Bascically I need guidance on how to transfer my kernel build image from my windows PC to the SD card which I will be using to test the Bananapi M2+ board. Any help or documents will be highly appreciated.
  9. Hello guys. I try to configure AP on WiFi. I have created /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf: interface=wlan0 driver=nl80211 country_code=IN ssid=TEST hw_mode=g channel=6 wpa=2 wpa_passphrase=12345678 wpa_key_mgmt=WPA-PSK wpa_pairwise=TKIP rsn_pairwise=CCMP auth_algs=1 macaddr_acl=0 Then I have uncommented DAEMON_CONF="/etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf" in /etc/default/hostapd. After it, I run /etc/init.d/hostapd restart And I try to scan WiFi via mobile phone, and no TEST. What am I doing wrong?
  10. Hi, I was using my M2 Plus yesterday getting the 3rd USB to work, everything went well with that got it working, and if I remember correctly I also ran the Update & Upgrade through the armbian-config utility before shutting everything down, today when I got back from class with a custom PCB adapter for the 3rd USB, I connect it with the USB device, I connect the power to the board and wait for the VirtualHere server to start up and show up at my computer, when I noticed it wasn't showing up I did a ip scan and couldn't see the ip, connected a screen to the HDMI and got this on the boot up, it just cycles through the same screen. When I installed the image about 2 weeks ago and also ran the script to install it to the emmc, so it is not running from an SD card. I hope its just some kind of boot script that is missing a letter or something and don't have to reinstall the image, I just got the board running just fine for my project. The video is a little bit blurry but should be readable at full screen. Thanks Oscar
  11. Hello everyone, brand new user of BananaPi and armbian, just today and I've spent quite a few hours trying to make the basic setup for WiFi work with no success. Initially I used the server version I downloaded from the main armbian page and then the "nmtui-connect" command. What happens is that it keeps asking me for the password (definitelly correct) and never accepts it. Looking at the NetworkManager logs while this is happening shows me this J I then tried using the nmcli command directly on the SSID with the password on the command line, with no better success. Sometimes it kept asking me the password, and then after a reboot I saw in the NetworkManager logs it was repeating "No agents were available for this request" I even tried using a direct wpa_supplicant command which was failing with some "nl80211" error but this could be because I didn't define a driver in the command line. I've tried reinstalling with the desktop version this time, with the same results. My suspicion is that somehow the system is failing to save or pass the credentials properly to my wifi. Note my wifi works fine for all other devices in the house. Ethernet connection works as well. I've been googling for hours and unfortunately I'm at my wits end as a new user. There's almost no results on my NetworkManager errors in relation to armbian or BananaPi. I've been trying various suggestions in this forum and elsewhere with no success. Currently I'm on a fresh installation again. Please let me know what more info I can provide to help you help me troubleshoot.
  12. Hello, guys. I use debian server version for my board. But I can't use WiFi to connect my router. I have tried wpa_supplicat, but no result. I used many resources for information, such as https://www.blackmoreops.com/2014/09/18/connect-to-wifi-network-from-command-line-in-linux/ https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/283722/how-to-connect-to-wifi-from-command-line Maybe, I do something wrong. Can you help me please?
  13. Hi, we have found an issue with Armbian 5.31 on a Banana Pi M2+ board that occurs when IP forwarding is enabled and there is high network load. How to reproduce this issue: Enable IP forwarding on the M2+: sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward=1 Install nginx or another web server on the M2+ Use ncat to send a large file (e.g. 4 GB) from one host to another via the M2+ Use ab to create additional load on the nginx server Soon there will be a kernel panic, for example (see attachment for more examples): Before the kernel panic the ksoftirqd thread uses 100% of one core. Best regards, bprinz logs.zip
  14. Hello,I have a bananapi m2+ I would like to install kodi version 17 to the standard repositories is the only version of 15 which doesn't suit me. tell me how to install the 17 version? I'm new to Linux and don't understand much,if there is a possibility lay out the user manual which would have helped with the installation. I want to install on server version armbian and that would be after the launch of the banana pi automatically instead of a desktop was loaded kodi interface, so it is possible to do?
  15. Hi there, I pulled the latest changes from github and created a fresh Debian Jessie Armbian Image for my BananaPi M2+. Specifically, I run: BOARD=bananapim2plus BOARD_NAME="Banana Pi M2+" VERSION=5.21 LINUXFAMILY=sun8i BRANCH=default ARCH=arm Through a lot of debugging and googeling, I found that the latest armbian Image uses a different BCM driver (https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib/issues/484). Now I face the following issue: In order to use AP6216 with hostapd in access point mode, I added "bcmdhd op_mode=2" to /etc/module. I tried a number of things, e.g. using dhd instead of bcmdhd but without success? Any ideas where I can configure AP6216 in op_mode=2 (access point mode) with the new driver? Or any ideas where I can find additional documentation? The access point mode is an important feature for me, so I am also considering using an older armbian version. With which release tag, did the new BCM driver got introduced? thx, markus
  16. Theoretically Armbian supports wifi on BPI M2+ since v5.13. I'm on v5.25 desktop version, bluetooth works but no wifi. Do I need to install any drivers?
  17. I received today my BPI M2+, however, I cannot make it boot. I tried both Diet Pi and Armbian Server. No boot. The red LED is on all the time. I'm using a Samsung EVO 32 GB SD card flashed with Etcher on Ubuntu. My power supply is a 5v 3A barrel connector. Since the usual suspects are not the cause, I have no idea what might be going wrong.
  18. Hi, after the update from Armbian 5.23 to 5.25 on a Banana Pi M2+ board, the MAC address and CPU serial number have changed. This can be reproduced by just updating the u-boot package on Armbian 5.23: # ifconfig | grep HWaddr eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr da:c7:a0:49:24:d6 # grep Serial /proc/cpuinfo Serial : 2435501d0a0e4800004d # dpkg -i linux-u-boot-bananapim2plus_5.25_armhf.deb # reboot # ifconfig | grep HWaddr eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 3a:89:a1:23:98:a6 # grep Serial /proc/cpuinfo Serial : 24005035871c481d0a0e Does anyone know the reason for this? Did u-boot change the way these numbers are generated? Best regards
  19. Hello, I'm interested in how to run the application calculated for a normal computer x86_64 (ubuntu), since the architecture arm is not supported, you need to do it as a bypass, in the application I post the script that I need to install. This is a radio bot. help me please sinusbot_installer.sh
  20. The other day I literally burned my fingers when trying to figure out why my mostly idle bpi-m2+ did not respond. Unfortunately I forgot to throttle the CPU/RAM with the h3consumption tool. Which settings would you recommended for a M2+ in order to avoid overheating? To my surprise the overheating also happened without high loads.
  21. Hi, I am trying to pair a Bluetooth speaker with my Banana Pi M2+ (in command line because I can not connect it to a display and/or keyboard. I use it as a remote machine I connect through SSH). It is the first time I do this in command line then I need help to accomplish it successfully. Here is my situation : 1) I saw that the only two available command line for Bluetooth on Armbian are bluetoothctl and bluetoothd 2) I saw in the file /etc/default/bluetooth that the bluetooth will automatically start at boot through the variable "BLUETOOTH_ENABLED=1" 3) I controlled the Bluetooth is well started by using the command line "systemctl status bluetooth" and it returned : Started Bluetooth service (complete text here below) 4) I know the MAC Address of my Bluetooth speaker (I will simply call here x:x:x:x:x:x) 5) I then followed the recommendations explained in the paragraph "Pairing using cli" (from this debian wiki page) by "Using the bluetoothctl" and : a. "power on" succeeded and returned this text message : Changing power on succeeded [CHG] Controller w:w:w:w:w:w Powered: yes b. "devices" did not returned anything c. "scan on" returned this text message : Discovery started [CHG] Controller w:w:w:w:w:w Discovering: yes d. "agent on" command returned this text message : Agent is already registered e. "pair x:x:x:x:x:x" returned this text message : Device x:x:x:x:x:x not available 6) As the (speaker) device could not be available (even if I put them together on the same table) I can not finish the two next steps ("trust x:x:x:x:x:x" then "connect x:x:x:x:x:x") 7) I set back "power off" to its default status Then could you please tell me how to solve this pairing problem ? Sincerely thanks and have a nice day, Miguipda ;-) Text returned by "systemctl status bluetooth" : --------------------------------------------------------- ● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled) Active: active (running) since Sat 2017-04-22 10:47:45 CEST; 20h ago Docs: man:bluetoothd(8) Main PID: 858 (bluetoothd) Status: "Running" CGroup: /system.slice/bluetooth.service └─858 /usr/lib/bluetooth/bluetoothd Apr 22 10:47:45 bananapim2plus bluetoothd[858]: Bluetooth daemon 5.23 Apr 22 10:47:45 bananapim2plus bluetoothd[858]: Starting SDP server Apr 22 10:47:45 bananapim2plus bluetoothd[858]: Bluetooth management interface 1.0 initialized Apr 22 10:47:45 bananapim2plus bluetoothd[858]: Sap driver initialization failed. 22. Hi, As displayed at boot (when terminal connection used through SSH) where can I find the CPU temparature after the boot ? Because I tried to check the content of files : cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp and cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone1/temp It well displayed it but when I use the "sensors" command line (comming from "lm-sensors" package installation) and even after having done the recommended "sensors-detect" command line (and answered YES at all the questions to be sure having found all the potentially existing sensors), the "sensors" command line just returned this Sincerely thanks
  23. Hallo All, I installed Armbian bpi m2p. With both server and desktop after i change, off course. i getting stuck with apt-get update not working. error showing are "could not resolve faild to fetch. Anyone know how to solve this? Also there seems a problem with the ethernet adapter. When i want to add new connection, after selected new connection, i cannot chose in dialog menu, nothing can be changed or edit. with warm regards, Frank
  24. Hi all ! Sinovoip just send me a free sample of a new board, BPi M2 plus. - H3 SoC - eMMC (7.3 Go) -Inboard Wifi+BT ( chipset AP6212 ) Very good, thanks to them ! So I have installed Armbian (here), but the wifi doesn't work yet. I have found the driver source, (http://www.mediafire.com/download/68vvpim3k3po0ur/support_ap6212.rar) but I think I must recompile all Armbian to try if this driver works. Some questions: 1) Can I compile Armbian with a Ubuntu 16.04 x64 desktop, or 14.04 is better ? 2) If so, does a source is available somewhere (and maybe a tutorial? XD ) ? I have look the Igor's repo, but I think sun8i is not available at this day. Thanks for all lights
  25. I am using the latest Armbian version with a legacy kernel on my M2+ board. The Armbian forum has already been a great source of help. Now I am facing a new issue: - for my setup the IPv6 NAT netfilter module is required, which was introduced in Kernel 3.7 So in my understanding I have two options: a) backport the kernel module(s) to the legacy Kernel by customizing the armbian build process switch to the mainline Kernel The mainline kernel for H3 boards seems to lack support for Gigabit ethernet and in general still remains no recommended for potential overheating problems? Thus, I guess I have to get working on the Kernel module backports. Do you have any pointers for me? Is this issue better placed in another sub-forum? thank you guys!
