  1. Hi all, First of all sorry if i posted in the wrong directory I'm currently facing some issues with my orange pi one and in particular with node red and my dht22 temperature and humidity sensor i installed the stable buster version on my sd card this works perfectly and after that i installed node-red on it. in node red I installed the dht sensor pallet and added it to my flow but here is were the issues are starting, i need to select which pin it is connected to and what gpio i use. i can only select bcm gpio, rev1, rev2 or wiringpi 1 or 2 and then which pin it is connected to. i have the sensor connected to pin 3 on the orange pi one according to the gpio but i read somewhere that the rev2 and rev1 raspberry pi pinout are 180 degrees turned so i also picked pin 38. none of these options seem to work can someone please help me kind regards jelle

Hi, I always been an retrorangepi user for my Opi1. but the lastest retrorangepi is stuck at 4.1 (I try the 4.2 slim but it's too slim) and the 4.3 beta also if its named as full, lacks of kodi and many emulators. so, my thought is. What if I build my personal emulationstation + lastest kodi on top of lastest armbian? Can I install armbian and then emustation and kodi? Do I have to install all emulator one by one? or I could use retroarch? Can I setup armbian to boot emustation? I think could be a good thing also for study

Hello all, I used using opi one with (Armbian_5.90_Ubuntu_bionic_4.19.57) image. and used the uart0 pins for hardware pwm but the output was around 330mv pwm not 3.3v as i want. my initial thoughts was either the uart0 isn't disabled or there are no pull ups activated, although i tryed using this: https://github.com/iboguslavsky/pwm-sunxi-opi0 Remap pins in FEX: ; Disable debug UART0 [uart_para] uart_debug_port = 0 uart_debug_tx = port:PA04<2><1> uart_debug_rx = port:PA05<2><1> ; Enable PWM0 on PA05 [pwm0_para] pwm_used = 1 pwm_positive = port:PA05<3><0> but there is no FEX but DTB files and i didn't know how to disable uart0 and activate pwm in DTB/DTS files. so how can i get a 3.3v pwm on uart0 (hardware pwm) ?

  5. Hi, seems after some system updates SNMP stop reporting data about storage (size/used). It happen on 2x Orange PI One and on one Orange PI PC2. Actually in monitor what I use for SNMP monitoring I see last valid data was there at 05/09. I think at this time I update all boards and as I remmember there was also some update for snmpd. Can anyone confirm this problem ? And when we talk about SNMP, what is best way to change default logging level for SNMP ? Seems changing in /etc/default/snmpd doesnt have effect and after last update I must again edit files in /lib/systemd to stop that annoying flood in log from SNMP.   6. i've an orange pi one and i'm running armbian stretch (mainline) on it after issuing shutdown -h now as root, the green status indicator light goes off. but i noted that the ethernet leds remain on i leave the board powered on after shutdown but since i've already issued shutdown, i assumed that the cpu has stopped while i go on to work on my pc. some minutes later, i accidentally touch parts of the board and it is extremely hot, every part of the board i'd say it is probably well higher than 100 deg C, possibly a fire hazard do be careful about this as i think the behavior after shutdown is different from ubuntu xenial. for ubuntu xenial after shutdown the board cools off but for armbian stretch it becomes extermely hot possibly > 100 deg C (possibly even higher) after shutdown. the only safe thing to do for now is to disconnect from power on shutdown, do not leave it hooked up to power after shutdown
  7. hi i would like to install vlc 2.2.7 or vlc 3 on armbian xenial 5.90 stable two month ago i used to do apt-get upgrade & apt-get update then vlc 2.2.7 can be installed no problem now even apt-get upgrade break the system and i get two instance of desktop now i only get vlc 2.2.2 wich have bugs is there a way to install vlc 2.2.7 at least ? orange pi one

Hello all, I have a 5" waveshare touch screen connected (touch screen cable) to an orange pi one through usb with a separate power cable for screen, and it works fine. but when I used the (microusb to microusb cable) for the touch it doesn't work.. is there any way to make it work!? because i need the usb for something else and i can't use a usb hub for it's too big for my application. I have orange pi one with Armbian Xenial desktop legacy kernel 3.4.y which have a script.bin file in /boot directory and doesn't have /boot/dtb directory ...but when i installed Armbian Bionic mainline based kernel 4.19.y, I found the .dtb files but not the script.bin ....now i don't know how to configure both touch screen and the pwm pin! is the .dtb file (sun8i-h3-orangepi-one.dtb) is the same as script.bin or orangepione.bin ? if so, how to configure it? because i am used to convert the script.bin to .fex to configure it and then back to .bin.
  10. hi we are using legacy armbian xenial desktop wich work great with most rtl based dvb-t tuners we would like to add a new rtl2832 usb tuner with specific vendor id to be recognized : using x86 pc first we patched dvb-usb-ids.h with new vendor id then compiled and installed media_build ,result is success & dongle working well using orange pi one : building media_build give error . is there a way to patch the new vid thanks
  11. I'm trying to replicate a flash drive using an ISO file. My system is running the latest Ubuntu next kernel. Here is how I am mounting an ISO: # Mount sudo modprobe g_mass_storage file=/home/pi/mini.iso # Remove sudo rmmod g_mass_storage Here are the two types of results I get from three different images. (Ubuntu net install, Need for speed 2 iso, custom made iso) It's definitely being detected. However it's appearing as either empty partitions or unallocated.
  12. I try to use DS1302 RT Clock for my Orange Pi One that uses armbian. I connected this way: DS3102 VCC -> OrangePi pin 2 ( 5V ) DS3102 GND -> OrangePi pin 9 ( GND ) DS3102 CLK -> OrangePi pin 3 ( TWI0_SDA ) DS3102 DAT -> OrangePi pin 5 ( TWI0_SCK ) I added i2c0 to overlays of /boot/armbianEnv.txt and rebooted.   13. After some months not using my OrangePi One, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 (previously I had a stretch release). I did a clean install, downloading the image and burning the microSD with it. I noticed the button now works for 1st time since I bought the OrangePi One. It shuts down the device, no need to install or configure nothing. But, previous Armbian versions I had, were able to set the machine CPU speed at 1.2 and 1.1 GHz. Now (with Armbian 5.90) the maximum is 1 GHz. On previous releases, the file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_available_frequencies contained: 240000 480000 648000 816000 912000 960000 1008000 1104000 1200000 (being the last one 1.2 GHz) But now it contains: 120000 240000 480000 648000 816000 960000 1008000 (being the first one 120 MHz, not 1.2 GHz) In addition, the file /etc/default/cpufrequtils contains: MIN_SPEED=408000 MAX_SPEED=1200000 Where none of those speeds are available speeds, according to scaling_available_frequencies Is there a mistake, or were 1.2 and 1.1 GHz removed for any reason?
  14. Hi, I'm new to the Armbian/Alt PI scene, coming from a RPI Zero W. I'm needing to interact with my PI using a CH340G (is it compatible) USB to TTL dongle. I've also trjed a CH351A device, put it into UART mode. Unfortunately, I get nothing from the PI. Despite using the primary RX/TX pins. I've also tried enabling all of the UART pins using armbian-config, and using another set of pins - to no avail. Please view my setup below. I've run out of ideas of where I'm going wrong.   15. As I told on another topic, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 on my OrangePi One. Now, when it boots, all the output text goes to the bottom line of the screen, with each line overwritting the previous one (no scroll). Then it asks for username, and when I type it it asks for password, overwritting the username I typed. And it probably displays the wellcome banner, but I just see the last line of the banner. Once logged, I have to type "clear" and then I can use the full screen, and it scrolls. That happens on the console, if I start a new session from another machine (using PuTTY) it works fine. My password doesn't overwrite my username, and I can see the full wellcome banner. I don't need to type "clear". Note: While botting, apart from text in the bottom line, also the Armbian name with big red letters is displayed in the middle of the screen. That's all, Armbian in the middle and text in the bottom line.
  16. hi there my orange pi one is very slow (8 fps) at encoding my capture card stream to h264 using HW Cedrus264 but other 720p mkv files are converted fast using HW (50 fps) then i tried to save the stream first to sd card (720p Mjpeg format) then encode it using HW , but here i still have 8fps , and cpu usage is 40% even when i used SW libx264 to encode , i still get 8fps and cpu 40% wich is weird is it possible to get real time 720p encoding ? , my capture card only output mjpeg armbian xenial desktop
  17. Hello, I want to read data from UART3 on OrangePi One. I want to use UART3 (pin 8 & 10), so I enabled uart3 overlay at /boot/armbianEnv.txt. Now I expect to read data via minicom -b 115200 -D /dev/ttyS3 but I read nothing unfortunately. What am I missing? Any help is appreciated.   20. There are two USB dongles on my Orange Pi One box, one is a USB Bluetooth in USB-OTG port and other is a mu7601 USB WiFi in the USB port. When I switched it from legacy kernel to lastest development kernel 4.11.x, the bluetooth card disappeared. So I exchange two dongles each other , the one in USB port works, and the one in USB-OTG port always failed. Is there any solution?

I'm trying to develop a kiosk system using an Orange Pi One (Based on Allwinner H3 - Mali400) running Armbian Xenial To do this I need to develop a full-screen GUI application (I don't have much experience in this area) I'm looking for a professional way to do this, Ive spent about a week trying to get Qt to cross-compile from my laptop but not getting much luck, Any ideas / advice welcome, Andy

  24. Hello, I'm trying to read temperature from DHT22 on armbian using OrangePi's WiringPi library. The moment I call digitalWrite the whole system freezes. Previously I had raspbian and it used to work just fine. Am I missing something? Should I do some configuration maybe? Any help is appreciated. Thank you
  25. Ethernet was working fine for me, up until I rebooted the board. The LEDs on the ethernet port blink briefly during boot, but once booted they are off, and the board does not have an IP address. Via serial console I undid the change I made prior to the fateful reboot (adding 'overlays=uart1' to '/boot/armbianEnv.txt') and rebooted again, but to no avail. Having searched for the issue, I also confirmed that my power supply is sufficient; running 'stress -c 2 -m 2', and measuring across pins 2 (5V) and 6 (GND) of the 40-pin header, I get 5.05V.
