  1. Hello everyone, Please beg my pardon if the question might seem “stupid†but I searched quite a bit without finding a solution. I’m using the ARMBIAN version of Debian Jessie on my Banana Pro with a great dose of satisfaction and I have noticed that the message about “system status†which appears on the first SSH Login Screen after each reboot provides a very useful insight into my system. From my researches I think I have understood that this is called “MOTD†(message of the day) and it is supposed to appear only once per session. I would like to display this message every time I open a new SSH Connection windows to my device, so to always have that information in each “Terminal Window†and not only to show them once at every reboot. Would this be possible? And if so, how exactly? Thank you for your time and your patience.
  2. hi, I plan to turn my cubietruck IR gateway, and home theater controller. The first thing to do is to be able to decode any remote control can be used with lircmd. But when I use irrecord IRW returns do anything with some remote and works with the other. While in leaving the base configuration (infrared keyboard) there is always something to send. The sunxi ir-limited driver there are thee? The second point is to emit infrared to control my devices and there is little information that is partt LIRC_GPIO seems you abandoned. I watch the IR driver in the mainline kernel and I find that it is very different. I wonder if it would not be helpful to bnackport in legacy kernel and have a more rigorous fonctionment. That the sunxi driver.
  3. Hi, I'm using armbian on my Cubieboard running from nand. I'm just curious how do you implement wear-leveling in this armbian on nand implementation on ext4? Thanks in advance. :)
  4. Hello, I have installed Armbian on my Banana M1+ and I have noticed „something“ strange in network communication. The network connector blinked rapidly even though nothing was running so I have installed iftop and found out this: iftop -i eth0 -NP Ankh-Morpork => Ankh-Morpork:51413 => Ankh-Morpork => Ankh-Morpork:51413 => Ankh-Morpork => Ankh-Morpork => Ankh-Morpork:51413 => Ankh-Morpork:51413 => I am wondering, what are these communications on newly installed system? Thank you, Regards, Petr Sourek
  5. Hi, My Armbian Vanilla for Cubieboard1 is working las 2 months... Is there any way to stop this? My Cubieboard 1 works as file and print server. uname -a Linux xxxxxx 4.2.2-sunxi #3 SMP Wed Sep 30 21:20:20 CEST 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux Thanks
  6. Hi, as I need to use an OS allowing me to have Cozy and Gladys (both node.js) on my router (using them it as server) I tried to use armbian for the first time. I sucessfully installed armbian on a SD Card and boot it. My BPi-R1 is not connected to a display or other periherals (keyboard / mouse). Because I do not have those materials I sold them. It is just connected with RJ45 and has a HDD connected on the SATA port. I then connected my modem RJ45 connector to my BPi-R1 on the WAN port. I connected my computer on the first port (near the WAN one). I saw my laptop do not get an IP certainly due to the fact that LAN port seems to be manually activated. Because I just now read your text telling that : "BCM53125 switch configured as follows – looking at front of ports: |2|1|0|4|(LAN=manual) |3|(WAN=dhcp and bridged to enabled wireless adapter in (theoretical) high throughput mode with SSID lamobo and password 12345678" Then if I do not get automatically an IP on my computer how could I manually configure it ? It has no sense to activate it manually if I can at least not access the router through my LAN ports. Ecxept if I must I do it by using wifi ? Sincerely thanks and have a nice day. Miguipda ;-) P.S. : I used the Legacy version

  9. Hello and thanks for the good work and support with these images. First, excuse my bad english, it's not my native. And i am a little rookie and a little noob, so sorry if i write crap and don't understand basics some time. Recently i've try to install desktop on this board and hardware accelerated driver with partial result. I had Armbian_4.5_Lamobo-r1_Debian_wheezy_3.4.109 with installed Gnome. I install Gnome following this site: Then i started to install and configure stuff based on sunxi site. First libUMP tnen this: "make test" didn't do anything - can't create a test or something. Then i do this: in log i had the same: but i also notice the following in Xorg.0.log: Aaaand my odyssey begin. I notice the second parameter is defined in boot.scr file. There where other parameters too, preventing 2Dand 3D acceleration - "sunxi_ve_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_g2d_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_no_mali_mem_reserve sunxi_fb_mem_reserve=16". I notice the following lines are not present in version - Armbian_4.5_Lamobo-r1_Ubuntu_trusty_3.4.109_desktop (why i am not using this version - long story), so i follow this description: edit boot.cmd file and create new boot.scr without these lines and reboot then try to install Gnome (i do this on fresh installation). The problem is - i don't know if i am cursed or this @#%^&%* board is cursed, but from the site maintenance yesterday i am unable to install Gnome anymore, no mater content of boot.scr file. At first i thought this is the problem but it appears to be something with apt-get because once i received the following error - apt-get error (100) or something similar. Tasksel freeze at around 55%, i try "apt-get install gnome" it freeze at some point too. I don't know what log to loot at, i couldn't find anything related to apt-get or aptitude in /var/log/ . I even try older images where i used to install the same desktop before and the result is the same. This is my major problem right now, because instead of going forward i am way beyond the start line at the moment. About the first thing about FBTURBO(0) in Xorg0.log i understand this parameter is in script.bin which is not so easy to edit, but i am defiant... I install libusb-1.0-0-dev and use this guide to modify the file: But i notice script.bin in this board is a simlink to /bin/lamobo-r1.bin so i edited this file and change parameter - fb0_framebuffer_num, from 2 to 3. And by the way i am using nano instead of vi because me and vi are old enemies and every time i risk and using it result in disastrous results - in this case - boot loop or various problems before boot. The problem is, after i change parameter from 2 to 3 (with nano) and reboot system is unable to load desktop anymore if i do this after i installed one. If i try to install desktop with this parameter enabled i can't startx later (and it can't autoload too). I have to make fresh install again. Sorry for the long post. What am i doing wrong so i can't install desktop environment? And why setting framebuffer to 3 causing troubles when it's recommended value in sunxi site:
  10. I have Armbian 4.5 Jessy Legacy 3.4.109 running in the internal NAND and tried to do apt-get update+upgrade what bricked the device. As precaution I setup an identical system on a CubieBoard 2, where the upgrade went fine. After two days of testing on this test board, I tried it the same way on my real server but it failed. The board is not completely bricked, but network is not working anymore which limits my access dramatically. This is what I did and the output during upgrade: After the final reboot I was not able to connect to the server anymore (via network). When connecting a monitor and keyboard, I can login, the system works somehow, but I'm not able to establish network connection. When looking to the file dates in /boot and issuing "uname -a" it seems to me, that old 109 kernel is still active. This produces conflicts in /lib/modules/3.4.109-sun7i/modules.deb.bin which is probably the cause for not working network. Has anybody a clue what went wrong during the upgrade process? What is the best way to recover the system? Might it be sufficient to replace /boot/uImage ? Where do I get the 110 version (the official download image is 109)? I have a rsync (live) backup from the moment before the upgrade. But as it failed once, it will probably fail again when I try to install updates. Therefore I would prefer to fix the current state.
  11. Hi everyone, after getting Igor's image for Jessie with kernel 3.4.109 on January 10th, I did an upgrade and now I get: uname -a Linux cubieVDR 3.4.110-sun7i #10 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 28 11:48:43 CET 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux However, unfortunately I also get modprobe bcmdhd modprobe: FATAL: Module bcmdhd not found. According to, it does not say anything about having to do something special to obtain the module in the section called "How to set wireless access point?". Also, on another machine running kernel 3.4.108, everything is working fine (see my post in this forum). What do I need to do to get the AP working? Cheers, chessplayer

  13. Hi, I try to run Armbian 4.5 (Bananapi Ubuntu trusty 3.4.109 desktop) on my Banana Pi M1+, but after the "Starting kernel..." prompt the monitor show only the "No signal" warning. (I connect the Banana Pi to my monitor with HDMI - DVI converter, I will be able to try it with single HDMI cable a few days later.) However, it boots. I have a lot of tries to change the boot.cmd and the banana.bin, but I didn't achieve satisfying result. The result of dmesg: What can I try to solve it? Thank you very much for the help! Andrew
